It's much more a peace of mind thing for the higher-ups than it is anything to do with protecting them from being pirated, I would imagine.
The old protections are removed as well, it is only Steam/D2D protection in place.

Exactly what kind of peace of mind would it give them? Unless of course they are all idiots (and I mean that sincerely; if they think DRM will make ANY difference to the sales of those games, other than possibly detract from them, then they ARE idiots).
So the DRM got worse.

So the DRM got worse.
People who put the money up for games don't like the idea of releasing them into the wild with no protections, even if those protections are found to be extremely imperfect.
You can choose to be outraged by that simple fact, or you can work to figure out the best DRM options and support them. Your choice, I guess.

I haven't gotten mouselook to work for Dark Forces on Dosbox, so if they fix that up for the steam version, I'll be happy. Otherwise, I have Jedi Knight, so I don't care much. Maybe it'll bring attention to the series though and get Lucas Arts to make a new one. Well, one can only hope.

Try "completely useless". Since these games are old and were cracked ages ago, and have been distributed ever since, it gives NO protection.
![avatar](/upload/avatars/2008/12/d8d7119fc9fdc380cfcf2113b4ac56b95b175ede_t2.jpg )
Oh, I can do both. And I do, I support GOG.

Yes. I know. Did I say it made sense? No. I said it is the case.
As for supporting GOG, obviously so do I, but GOG does not sell new games.

TOMI TECHNICALLY doesn't count since it's a Telltale game, and Monkey Island redone is basically just... the old Monkey Island, so how much could it have changed other than graphics-wise?

I'm not counting Tales of Monkey Island. As for the SE, they completely redone the musical score and voice acting using the original cast. They didn't change anything in terms of gameplay, as you can switch between the two versions on the fly.

I think you are being intentionally difficult. I meant in a general sense, I support GOG but they do not sell new games, so I also have to buy games elsewhere.
If you want, we can make it "but they do not sell ALL games," and then it pertains to Jedi Knight.
