HOLY CRAP. This is what I was waiting for. Dark Forces! YEEEES! LucasArts has now fully redeemed themselves in my eyes. Day-one purchase for me.
Would be nicer if they where coming here.
ahh classic game, so old that it didn't have proper mouse aim you know, you had to fudge it by assigning the axes manually

Quite so, Dark Forces especially is the quintessential GOG

Good news. I might want to try Jedi Academy as I liked the others. But I'm not willing to pay the massive prices commanded by eBayers.

This.
For a moment, I mis-read the topic title as "JEDI KNIGHT COMING TO GOG". Then I kinda got disappointed :p
Curse you, Lucasarts for being all stuck up and anal about where you put your games online. Should it be the place that I can't use, or the place that I can (barely) use?
Still, Jedi Outcast and Dark Forces 2 have my attention on Steam.
screw lucasarts and screw steam.
Lemme guess: US price - 9.99$, EU price 19.99€, right?

I hope not. Dark Forces maybe a good game, but it's still too much because it's so damn old. I say $5.99 or $4.99. The newer games like Jedi Outcast will probably be around $9.99. And you Europeans will suffer the wrath of the Arbitrary Steam Price Monkey.
Wow. LucasArts is finally releasing their old games, the games that almost everyone demanded to be released, and most of the comments are "BAH, SCREW STEAM!" We should be happy that these games finally get to see the light of day again. Besides, since LucasArts' games have gone to both Steam and Direct2Drive, if you really, really loathe Steam, they'll probably be appearing there, too.

Which I can't use. I still don't understand why D2D won't let me buy the Lucasarts games because of "regional restrictions", but Steam lets me without a problem. That's what I don't get.

I wrote it mostly for the € part - as a fact that we Europeans will be charged the most....as usual on $team.

While I like the fact the older LA games are being released, I have sworn not to buy anything off Steam until they change the pricing.
If Dark Forces is coming (my favourite SW game), I really hope it will not just be the DOS version with a DOS emulator in a .exe package.
For now, the best version of this game is the Mac version: higher resolution, better colors, more options, more (funny) cheat-codes,...
I hope they will base this "new" version on it, and not the DOS version. But I have doubts, since Republic Commando, for example, has not seen its bumpmapping problems fixed...
Euro pricing can go to hell :(
Steam is a no-go for me.
Shame.
Would have liked to play Dark Forces again.
