bazilisek: The IP is held by Activision and they certainly are not going to sell it to her.
It's not like they have any idea what to do with it otherwise.

Apart from running it into the ground. God forbid they get any bright ideas.
inXile might be fast heading to the indie park if W2 is a financial success with other gamers as well. Same might happen with Double Fine.

Schaffer and Fargo, albeit Fargo has been more harsh in his words, have both said, that they've been disappointed with the attitudes of big publishers. They both might be happier, if they could do all their games here on as indie projects.

Crosmando: But is their any reason for the publisher, besides money? Indie projects can still just go directly to steam or wherever and ask to have their game up, they don't even need to pay for a distributor as digital downloads are the future really, and no indie dev is going to bother with physical copies.

bazilisek: If what we're all thinking is true and Mystery Game X is actually Gabriel Knight 4, there's no other way. The IP is held by Activision and they certainly are not going to sell it to her.
Righty o, to be honest I still haven't played past the first Gabriel Knight, I considered buying the rest but FMV games aren't really my thing. The first was an interesting story though.

And crappy 3d graphics (i.e. Gabriel knight 3) is not my thing, but a good game is a good game...
The plot of GK2 is great, but god dammit the acting is horrible. The dude playing Gabriel especially so.
$312k so far with 11 days left.

The AMA on Reddit has just started.
Less than three days left to pledge. Hit $400k and we get a fully expanded cinematic intro to the movie!

$16 pledge will give you either Moebius or Mystery Game X (you don't decide now)
$50 pledge gives you both games and some other bonuses, like music and beta testing

1000 extra lines of dialogue sounds much better for me, but 450k$ seems to be unreachable.
Yea I'd love more dialogue, too, but $450k is not going to happen. $400k, however, is attainable, and it's possible that with enough requests Jane could reverse the $400k and $450k stretch goals to add the dialogue instead.

So they need about $100K for 1000 lines of dialogue, right?

5 zeroes after the one....carry the infinity sign by 5....by my funky math that comes out to be $100 bucks a line. Dang, talking got expensive...
