JudasIscariot: So they need about $100K for 1000 lines of dialogue, right?

5 zeroes after the one....carry the infinity sign by 5....by my funky math that comes out to be $100 bucks a line. Dang, talking got expensive...
$50k actually. They are also going to record the soundtrack with a full orchestra if they can reach that goal.

Wait, what? How is it $50k when the project has $369,000? and they want $450k for the 1000 lines...?

Well, if you don't count the cinematic intro, Linux port and live orchestra recording - yeah, pretty much.

By the same token - literature is overrated, since pretty much everyone can write nowadays, right ;) ?

I can't write. I just talk at this magical machine in front of me and words just appear...:P

(Actually, many moons ago I thought I was going to write philosophy...but then life got to me and kicked that ambition to the curb...who knows? Maybe I can still write something :P)

The next stretch goals are

- full cinematic intro at $400,000
- extra 1,000 lines of dialog and orchestral score at $450,000

What I meant was that they need an extra $50k after the $400k stretch goal for the extra dialog.

Ahhh well...I sort of skipped over that stretch goal :P
How can anyone say that 1000 lines of dialogue should be cheap? Am I missing something and there will be no voice acting in the game? :P

Just a heads up in case I'm not the only one that missed this clarification on the physical editions of the games.

Didn't realize the "Packaged DVD version" of Mystery Game X at the 100$ level is actually just a jewel case. I'd prefer at least the retail box if there's no big box, but Tex or The Two Guys might need that additional hundie (not even mentioning over-bleeding of the wallet at this point).
Interesting, so backers will get Mystery Game X too, even if in a JC/DVD case. Even more interesting is that Mystery Game X won't be in a big box too. It's cool to have Jane and Bob's signatures, but +$100 more ...

What do you mean by retail box? A DVD keep case?

Did the clarification just cause you to lower your pledge from $200 to $100?

I was thinking it could be the medium sized cardboard box.

Nope, not yet at least. I just realized the $200 edition also has more goodies:
The "Big Box" edition ($200 and up) -- Besides being in a 'big box' we will create some other goodies for inside, like a companion booklet with an original short story by Jane, sample sketches and character bios.

Beats me honestly, could use clarification from the publisher what they have in mind, but it's too late for that anyway.

Well, that's actually for the 100$ as well, since the only BigBox for this season (Moebius) was added to the 100$ tier (probably just didn't update that -200$ and up- part ... but maybe I'm wrong, bah, confused again).

If it's GK4, then it's likely Activision, so I would hazard a guess that it's those 1-inch thick cardboard or DVD boxes.
