Anyone else tried the demo yet?

It is a completely different game. It only bears some slight resemblance to JA2.

Having said that, despite some frustrating interface issues (Everytime you change weapons the weapon unloads its clip!!!) it isn't too bad.

I reccommend having a go as long as you don't expect Jagged Alliance 3

I didn't play it yet but yeah, wasn't expecting JA3 just from the videos I've seen.

tried it. it's what i imagined it would be.

it's not bad per se, i think, but it's neither particularly good nor is it Jagged Alliance. i'd say that some of the earlier attempts at a proper JA2 sequel were better than this, for example Hired Guns.

my main gripe with the game, and this is no surprise, is the fact that it's not turn-based. i'm not a TBS game fanatic but this is one type of game that needs to be turn-based. i figured i'd approach the demo with an open mind, but it was painfully obvious to me that the real-time planning system was forced and the game should have been turn-based.

perhaps this will appeal to some gamers out there, maybe the same ones that already liked Frozen Synapse (i couldn't get into that either), but it's nowhere near as good as JA2. i think the developer would have been better off just making the faithful remake they originally intended to make.

Tried it, didn't like it, sucked at it. Evevn with most auto-pauses on it was too chaotic form me. And I don't like the interface and cam.

I liked previous JA games (and i play it every so often), but the demo was... Meh...

Well it depends. This game is so different it doesn't really matter whether you liked the previous JA games or not. It basically borrows the setting and a few other features from JA, that's it.

If you want a squad based tactical game where you have to pause it every few seconds in combat (might as well have been TB like Fred said) it's quite detailed and quite fun nonetheless

I just tried it. It's what i expected it to be. Proves that it something isn't broke, one shouldn't fix it. It's as lifeless as it's voice acting. As a JA game it's a travesty, as a tactical game, it's like Hired Guns [the new one, not the 1993 one]. YMMV, but You're not gonna get far.

Well, I preordered it and am hoping for the best.

One thing I can probably say already. The 'Battle Bob' for TF2 is probably going to be the least wanted Soldier hat in no time, my god xD

I've never played the old Jagged Alliance's so I'll be taking this game for what it is. Hopefully it'll be interesting :)
