I just bought it off steam solely because its a bioware RPG(before they started sucking).

Havent played it yet, i was wondering what GoGers thought of it
GOG, not GoG.

Not so sure about the use of GOGers, I've used it in the past but it sounds clumsy, perhaps GOGerphiles, or GOGonaughts?

Really good game, one of their best. It is a little linear but the story flows really well, its one of those games where everyone should play it at somepoint.

Cant think of another name, Wpegg has hit the nail on the head with GOGonaughts I think!
Jade empire is very much a post-BG2 Bioware game, in that it has passable combat, a simple goody two-shoes/big meanie alignment system influenced by your decisions and an interesting setting and story with likeable characters, one of which is a romanceable male who lost his family in tragic circumstances.

I'd say the best part is the setting really, makes for a nice change from the Tolkienesque fantasy and sci-fi.

That's my impressions of JE in a nutshell. I liked it enough to replay it 3 or 4 times, but I wouldn't call it Bioware's best work.
I still prefer GOGlodytes

As for JE its a pretty good game and worth a playthrough

It was the beginning of Biowares decline to suckyness.

It's a linear, console 'rpg'.. there is a combat system, but you can just mash your way though it.

Some interesting ideas, but they don't really amount to much and remain 'ideas'.

Clearly it's GoGopaths.
I put in maybe 10 hours before I got bored with it. It's good, but just didn't grip me.

Indeed - or GOGoyles.

Similarly I bought it when it came to PC but never played it. Not sure why, I guess the generally poor response from RPGers.
I didn't think it was that bad... and I think that sums up everything I can say about it. It wasn't bland, it wasn't overly good, it was just... killing time.
Jade Empire, the most underrated game of Bioware.
I liked it more than KOTOR.
the setting was interesting,I liked the combat, the dialog, the loot and the story was really good, not Baldur's Gate good, but good
I've played it once when it was new, I remember liking it. I've been trying to find this game for about a year now, because I think Steam is overpricing it. 15 dollars for something that was released in 2005 is a bit too steep. I wouldn't go broke if I bought it at that price, but considering I have tons of other stuff yet to play, I guess I'll wait if the price ever drops down or if some other place will sell it cheaper...(GOG I'm looking at you! Where is this game with the 9.99 price tag?) 10 dollars I would be willing to spend. It's more of a matter of principle.

If anyone knows a site where I can purchase a Steam key for this for less, let me know okay? And actually, if anyone wants to trade me a Steam copy, I'll buy you something of similar value from Amazon.com. I've got a gift card there.

And finally, what's wrong with the term GOGers? I think it's good enough and rational. GOGonauts or whatever would be a kind of stretch.
I really enjoyed JE. think of it as KOTOR with real time fighting
