Usually I ignore spelling issues like that, because it's easy to figure out the intended meaning. But occasionally, I'll come across a post where multiple, sometimes opposing meanings could be valid depending on how you look at the mistake. A simple example might be "a part" versus "apart". So in my head I like to think of how I could reply to the unintended meaning and sow (sew? :D) confusion for the person.

Someone actually makes this mistake? I refuse to believe it! Refuse, I say!

It's "definite" not "definate".

Yeah it's not maybe the best thought out, but it could go on forever with minor variations or same sounding words with multiple meanings...

I've seen "Toady" instead of "Today." That was awkward. My least favorite grammar gaffe's gotta be "I could care less," though, since it means the exact opposite of what the person saying it usually intends to convey.

In a similar vein, it bugs me when people are trying to explain a series of things getting progressively better by saying "each one better than the next".

Um... doesn't that mean they're getting worse?

Just remembered, the thing that probably pisses me off most is "I am disappoint". I'm pretty sure that at this point it's internet slang but holy crap, it makes me wanna slap people. Hard.

Oh no, just remembered an even worse one. The ultimate crime is "would of" instead of "would have". Again, I'm pretty sure that it's internet slang at this point but God dammit! I demand instant death penalty for anyone who has ever written "would of"!

And yeah, I'm aware that these are more than just spelling errors. :P

Haha, yeah I have noticed that a lot recently.

My pet peeve is when people misuse then and than. For example, I have seen people say, "This is better then that". It drives me nuts, haha.

It's "colour", not "color" :-P
