Well, what can I say? We had a good run of whole one game but I guess EA will always be EA
When was it ever a "franchise"?
Oh well another game to avoid. Never mind it means more money to spend on GOG!
I don't get it. We don't have enough information right now to decide if the next Mirror's Edge is going to be shit or not.
What's exactly wrong with it?
Oh here we go again, I already vented my hatred of any game saying they wanna "Reach a Wider Audiance" at games like Resident Evil, Dragon Age, and among others and guess what my hatred for any game doing that is gone.

I might aswell enjoy the possible more gun action parts in Mirror's Edge 2 heck I liked the using guns parts in Mirror's Edge and never complained about them, its called the slow-mo button, you can easily steal the cops weapon once you see it turn red :P

There's also a browser game and a mobile game. Also, there's a comic.
I have no idea what the OP is talking about
Don't see what's wrong with the game possibly reaching more people. Open world action adventure sounds okay to me. The original one was a linear action adventure after all. So you know, not exactly time to get all worked up when there are no details.
Nice, good news.

I am really looking forward to some open world parkour. The first one was maybe a little bit to linear, so this is a step in the right direction. Thanks for letting us know.
I guess Roman thinks that marketing it towards a broader audience in EA (or a few AAA companies, in fact) lingo means making the game more generic in some ways. Whatever he means, it's far too early to suggest anything like that; we've not seen a single piece of gameplay yet, for god's sake. If anything, moving the free running to an open world scenario could turn out to be really good news, depending on how they do it.
I've not played a lot of the game but from what I remember, as long as they manage to properly integrate the parkour into an open world environment, what is there left to ' mainstream' up?

“Our goal in any product is to try and grow the audience,”

“We’re definitely taking into account the opportunity to reach a bigger group of people. We think we’ve got the right story and accessibility that can do that."

He could be right but he could be wrong. Making a game more appealing to a broader audience could mean more sex and violence in the game.

While I agree that it's way too early to get all worked up (and given that I never really liked Mirror's edge, I don't really care either way), usually when a company says they want an existing franchise to "reach a wider audience" it's usually (not always but usually) a very bad thing for current fans of the game in question. (Yes Dead Space 3 I am talking about you ! )
