I'm not sure whether I can use the same tall tale I posted in your other thread (even though I wasn't in) , so I'll write another one, just for good measure:

One day, as I was walking through the street, the ground open up and swallowed me just like that ! I started falling down this huge hole... I fell and fell and fell-at some point I got bored of all this falling business but then I finally landed on something-a huge pudding! I thought "yuck! Of all the things I could fall on, I ended up with the pudding?". At any rate, as I don't want to take too long, after I finally got down from the pudding I found out that I had actually fallen on the dining table of a giant and the thing I thought was his pudding was actually his birthday cake(apparently, giants use puddings as birthday cakes). The giant saw me and initially tried to kill me, probably thinking I was an insect and also because I had stepped on his pudding, but I shouted to him in my loudest voice I meant him no harm. The giant heard me (I have quite a loud voice) and asked me what I was doing there in the first place. I explained him my predicament, and he invited me to celebrate his 127th birthday with him, as he had no friends to celebrate it with-all his friends, he explained, lived on beanstalks in the sky, but he had to move, as his father became a gold miner and the family had to move underground. At any rate, we celebrated the giant's birthday together, and I even ate a small piece of pudding (it wasn't that bad after all). Afterwards, I said to the giant I had to leave as my family would be searching for me, and he took me to the closest opening of the Earth. He waved me goodbye and left.
Unfortunately for me, this closest opening turned out to be the volcano Etna, which isn't close to where I live (thank goodness it was inactive at that moment too). But how I got back home from Etna is another story...
Morals of the story:
-Watch you step, so that you won't fall in a huge hole
-When you eat your birthday cake, try not to kill any ants/insects-they might be lilliputian people who just fell from a huge hole!
(Sources of inspiration: Many really-I just made up this story on the spot.)

ChaunceyK: I'm in, although to be honest, it's mostly because I'm not seeing a lot of other people entering. I mean, I have a wishlist with some $5.99 games, so I want to enter, I just don't have much faith in my telling a tall tale, but here goes anyway...

Growing up, I was always one of the smallest kids in my class. Usually it was between me & one other boy, to the point our friends would sometimes have us stand back-to-back throughout the years to see which of us might be a 1/4-inch shorter than the other. Even some of the girls were bigger than me throughout those years.

By the time I had graduated from Elementary School (6th Grade), I was really hoping I'd hit a growth spurt in time to start Middle School. Kids at my Elementary School were cool, none of us bullied each other for anything, but now we were going to a new school with kids from other towns. No way in hell I wanted to be "the little kid" in the new school. But alas, I entered the 7th Grade at an even 5 feet tall...and sure enough, I was among the very smallest of the boys.

I remember seeing some of the 8th Graders & thinking how big they looked, having to crane my neck up if I wanted to talk face-to-face with them. Good god, if I was this self-conscious around them now, I could only imagine how I'd feel when I entered High School (9th Grade) and they had time to grow even bigger.

But then it happened...puberty to the rescue!

By the time I graduated 8th Grade less than 2 years later, I had grown...alot.

Just a couple more months after that, I was a Freshman (9th Grade) in High School, and I was quite surprised to see that I was looking so many of those "big" 8th Graders (who were now in 10th Grade) dead in the eye, if not actually looking down at some of them. Yep, I may have come into 7th Grade at an even 5 feet tall, but going into the 9th Grade I was 5-foot-9...and still growing.

I haven't grown much since then. On a good day without any back/hip/knee pain, I can stand up straight at 5-foot-10-1/2.

But that, my fellow Goglodytes, is the TALE of how I became TALL.
