Interesting that you brought this up. The other day I was watching a "Back To School" sale commercial and started feeling old. It bothered me for about thirty seconds until I realized, I DON'T HAVE TO GO BACK!

I'm sitting here hanging out with you fine people, watching some baseball, looking out my window at the awe of Lake Superior. If I was in school I'd be crammed into a stuffy room in some uncomfortable desk being force fed some stupid Algebra equation that I will NEVER NEED TO KNOW EVER AGAIN. After that I have getting the piss beat out of me from the school bully to look forward too followed by an impotent gym teacher telling me I'll never amount to anything because I can't climb a stupid rope.

My son started kindergarten last week, my daughter started 3rd grade yesterday. It's kind of weird because they both go to the same school. But yeah I do feel old sometimes. Although it is kind of cool that My kids and I will all hit a milestone age at the same time. The year I turn 50 my daughter will turn 21 and my son will turn 18.

If you dont mind my asking where in the UK are you, my niece started "Big School" today aswell, she is Falkirk ways, but some of my friends kids started last week

I've been gaming since 1989 (Amiga 500) and my first child is due in less than a month. I mention old commercials or games and my younger gaming friends just stare blankly at me like I'm some demented old rambling man.

August seems early to be starting school?

The first time I felt old was when I thought Sam & Max aren't funny anymore.

Parenthood is very surreal. My daughter starts her first day of school next Monday and I think I'm more nervous than she is. It's strange to see kids develop.
