Wasn't it mentioned not too long ago (IRC at the same time as EA "let's try to milk again a long dead franchise" new Ultima game was announced...) that he was working on some "social" aways online Facebookish-game.

A reinvention of the Ultima brand would be great for the RPG industry. If D&D can keep going why not Ultima and who better to revive the brand than Lord British himself.

I remember an old (probably 2008) interview of Richard Garriot where I talked about making a social network game based on Ultima and remarked that it was the first time since Ultima V that he has been doing programming work. Maybe it's related to that project.

AFAIK he has nothing to do with this game, that's one of the reason why it contain a "Lady British" instead of the proper Lord British.

Some very naive and silly people in this thread.

- If Garriot really cared about video games and RPG's, imagine what he could of done with the 30 million dollars he paid to get a single trip into SPACE. The idea that anyone would give this guy money when he virtually bankrupted himself doing that is lunacy.

- Garriot's studio is built around social games, Facebook games and mobile platforms, so whatever this is - it will be most likely a social game, probably multiplayer too.

The guy has a great history of programming and designing some great RPG's, but the guy obviously hasn't been in touch with reality for the last 15 years. You would think people would have written him off as a lost cause after the abomination that was Ultima IX.

Not to mention that it was Garriot who sold Origin Systems to EA...
