I like the focus on house ownership and the attention to details (hopefully many interactions as well). I hope it's easy to control who can enter and such so you don't end up with some douchebags wanting to steal everything or destroy the house, but I suppose a decent system where stealing is possible but not easy might be fun too.

Fuzzyfireball: He's teaming up with John Romero to make an RPG-FPS hybrid that allows you to go back and forth in time.

It'll be called... Ultikatana.
And both of them are going to make you their bitch.
Richard Garriot: "Theme Park" MMOs are Dead

I have not been paying attention to this but with this article I suspect the game will be more like Ultima Online as it originally was where players killed everyone for thier shit.

I expect this game to be repeatin the mistakes of UO.

Kickstarter is a great vehicle for getting old style games produced. I'm pretty sure that there are a lot of people who liked UO gameplay and won't mind something similar. I won't criticise the game for that (not that it's really possible to tell at this point how it will compare to UO).
Have not heard news in awhile until now:

I hope this game manages to bring back life in the stagnant MMORPG. Everquest and WOW are enough for your Theme Park MMO fix. We need more different styles for it.
