Ever since I upgraded to a new system with windows 7 I seem to have an issue when I uninstall a gog game. The issue being after I uninstall a game all of my compatibility settings (ie run as admin, run in xp mode, disable visual themes etc.) for all my programs get reset.

I'm not sure if it is a bug in the installers or just a weird thing that I alone is experiencing. That being said it is annoying so I hope there is a solution for it.

Thanks for any help anybody can provide me.

I have the same problem (Win7 64 bit), and for the first time. I have been on GOG for almost a year and a half.

The game I suspect of having done that is Lands of Lore III (installer version 2.0.0.8). I have to add that it is possible (but not likely) that uninstalling Return to Mysterious Island - version 1.0.0.7 (a game I HIGHLY recommend, but don't recommend uninstalling :)) may have been the cause, as the time frame between the uninstallations of the two games was 2 days.

Why would you uninstall a GOG game? Most aren't but a few hundred MBs. If that. Have you put in a ticket to support? I've never uninstalled a GOG, but the problem and possible solution interest me. Are these games that run in DOSbox?

Speaking for myself:
there is one reason: having finished playing the game and not intending to play it for at least a long time (which is usual for me, as although I tend to replay good games I don't do it before longer period of time has passed).

And besides: I have so many games installed (extreme need for variation :)) that removing some of them is advisable.
I don't know if it's an issue with Win7, but XP, although a good system, could in my experience become unstable with too many programs installed. That's why I install many games on my Win7 32bit partition, although I plan to play them on the 64bit one. AND STILL too many games installed. :)

Regarding sending a ticket: I haven't sent one (only realised the problem yesterday or 2 days ago), might do it.

And neither LOL III nor RTMI are DOS games.
