i always said too that time wont fix things, but it did. it took me a long time, it was a hard time but eventually it did fix things.

even happened to me kind of yesterday sortof, i am not much of a dater or fall in love easy but i met this girl through the internet who lives in the same town. and at first it really clicked. but she didnt want to meet up yet which i respected but then yesterday it ended up with a bang somehow.
but maybe she had too many issues (was seeing a therapist) and i came to close so she got defensive

at this point i accepted that perhaps i was not meant to be with someone...
being single does have it benefits too though

Option 1: (Bad) Find a new girl to obsess over. Pretty much a "hair of the dog" response, will probably only make things worse.

Option 2: (Hard) Practice mental and emotional discipline. Be Zen. Get yourself a "What Would Spock Do?" wristband.

Option 3: (Worst) Get yourself a World of Warcraft account. All of your other worries will fade into nothingness. Pretty much as close to genuine apathy as human nature will allow.

I am a genuinely apathetic person. Most people would call me a terrible person, but I'm only what the world made me.

The only time I've ever been successful with women is when I didn't give a damn and then they started flocking to me. The moment I started caring again I drove them away.

I think that apathy comes naturally with nihilism: that is, if you believe that life truly is pointless you'll start to treat it as such (pretty much hedonism), and then that feeling will grow and you'll just stop caring about trivial things (and, really, everything becomes trivial with this state of mind).

The trouble is shutting it off. The nihilist/hedonist mindset works great for poets and other creative types who just want to create their master work and then die, but if you ever want a "normal" life, apathy is not a good route. I would advise staying away from it unless you want to become a cynical asshole whom nobody can take seriously.

Edit: Just to make clear the dangers of apathy, I can't even get genuinely upset about my sister who died just over a year ago. Because I'm apathetic. You're better off dealing with your feelings and letting the ebb and flow take you.

We've girls in this forum so I'll take off my chauvinist hat, but life is more than just getting yourself in a mess over one out of thousands of girls. That mumbo jumbo about how "she is the special one" is just your inner self clinging on to that attraction. When you drop it, you'll realize how many girls out there are "special ones" too.

Im not going to lie that women are a bit confusing sometimes, but i will never allow that to make me consider them all to be whores. I find women to make more sense than guys.

If you were looking for apathy, try committing repeated disgusting acts that kill the soul. Put your heel on a puppy's head and just push slowly. I think there are better ways to get over her than apathy, though.

EDIT: The female gender dictates irrational behavior on a being that isn't really different from the male sex. This causes them to be unpredictable. For example, hormones don't have near the effect that we once thought they did. Women are raised to have little control of their emotions because its "feminine" so when their hormones spike... blammo. Men have similiar hormone flux but are raised differently. Everyone comes from a different environment so each case is different but this is how I have always seen it.

This is just my opinion. My largely ignorant opinion.
