If not, I'm thinking of making it a wishlist topic.

What I mean by "games matchmaking service" is a way for people to advertise that they are hosting a multiplayer game either right now or at a specified date, as well as advertise play-by-email games. I bought one game (M.A.X.) mainly for the multiplayer element and wish I could do something more elegant and visible than posting an advert on the M.A.X. forum.

If most people use an off-site service for setting up their multiplayer games, I would be grateful to know about it.

There isn't, at least nothing official. I have no idea what applications or services people use for that purpose.

Gameranger works with a lot of GOG games. Scott Kevill used to visit GOG; not sure if he still does.
