I doubt it. Then we'd just have to link to that forum instead of the wishlist. You think new people will suddenly look for a wishlist forum rather than simply posting in the main one? I don't.
Fix the broken wishlist instead, and then feature it more prominently on the site so it's not so easy to miss. Then everybody wins.

Its not about extracting "useful information", its about giving people a place to express and discuss why a certain game or feature should be on GOG, instead of the hundreds of useless threads cluttering up the general discussion forum.

I think including a game wish list link in the forum listing would be useful, but have that pointed at the wish list instead of a forum.

The forums are not for requesting games. Use the wishlist and please, please, please don't beg for games here.

Indeed. A sticky link at the top of the general forum that linked directly to the wishlist, that would be useful. Especially if the text shown was very explicit, like "Wish for future games on GOG here!".

While the wishlist is certainly a bit of a mess, I think one needs to keep in mind just how much the GOG staff is likely using it, which is to say not very much. Now, if every publisher out there was clamoring to have their games on GOG and the folks at GOG needed to pick and choose between hundreds of titles being offered to them that might be something different. However, at the moment getting new games on GOG looks to involved a fair amount of cajoling and negotiation, with the result being that what ends up on GOG is more dependent on what they can get as opposed to what they want to get. I think it should also be kept in mind that as the GOG staff tends to be long-time gamers themselves they have a pretty good handle on the kind of games people would like to see here, so when a publisher offers up their catalog they probably have a pretty good idea of what games they want from that catalog without the need to slog through the wishlist or forum posts.

As I said, to give people a place to discuss what they want, rather than cluttering this forum with multiple posts on each game that only really gets responded to with "use the wishlist" replies.

I think they already do that. As long as it's a discussion of old games and not "please bring this game to GOG", I think everybody is fine with it. It's the beg threads that are annoying, but a forum specifically for beg threads that will be ignored regardless makes no sense to me. And, as has already been mentioned, it's doubtful that it would keep the beg threads out of the general forum anyway.

I think such a forum would be a good idea. In fact, I think it'd probably be way more interesting than the "general discussion"-forum, as most post there would probably be about good old games.

I've seen other sites get killed by too many subforums. One site I used to frequent went from basically one big forum to tons of subforums and it literally killed the site because it fragmented the community too much. (I can't even link to it, because when I say it killed it, I mean it actually died.) So I'm personally not in favor of dividing GOG into a bunch of subforums. I think this community functions well with a single list of topics, and if it aint broke don't fix it. IMO.
Deciding the list of subforums would be a bit of a trick too. I won't even attempt it in this post, but suggestions are welcome.
That said, a forum for discussing the wishlist and a condoned place for beg threads might be a good idea.

That's the problem, they obviously introduced too many forums too soon. The addition of one or two relevant forums at a time is not going to kill off any largish community, but the addition of 50 or so most certainly would strain most forums if their is no real justification for such splits.
The addition of one forum for "game/site suggestions" will do no harm to GOG. It'll either be used or not. It certainly won't fragment the community any more the addition of a new game forum.
