I googled a bit and found this Dreamwidth / Livejournal entry:

One of the comments there says that a "Dr. Cat" was involved in the creation of the game. The man was a co-creator of Furcadia. Which features characters similar to that lady.

So... I think we know who's to blame. :p

Like how he talks to the mice in Castle British, he even named one "sherry" The man's a loon!
