Downpour is horrible.
The HD collection (graphic side) si much better then this...and they were PS2 games.
But it's not the graphic the problem.
The problem is that this game is boring like hell.At the beginning you have no objective in your diary, and you must walk around, avoiding stupid zombies, hoping to find the right building to enter on.
The story is ugly and...boring.Nothing you haven't seen.
The running section are horrible too.
I bought this game for 40 euro, finished it (and I played it twice, one on highest difficulty for action and riddles),completed all side-quest...but no fun at all.Replay Silent Hill 1-4 and leave this saga die.
From what i understand its better than Anna ^_^

I've read at least one positive review but I can't disagree with the naysayers. I thought the attempts to stick to Silent Hill 3's plot was admirable despite prior changes in the first film getting in the way of that goal. While it's obvious the team behind the new film have a love for the series it really only amounts to a collection of in-franchise references and fan service. There is no real horror in this film but with the right mindset going into it, it could be enjoyed.

Makes me wonder how the next how the next Silent Hill will be like which apperantly Hideo Kojima is going to help make

I don't know, Kojima's work is really hit or miss for me. His name attached to the series would probably garner a lot of attention from the game journalists though so I'm sure it would be a good move for Konami financially.
As I mentioned in another thread about the matter, I don't know if Kojima is going to direct/produce/etc the next Silent Hill game, but he expressed some pretty strong positions in it making use of the FOX Engine. I would love to see a SH game in that engine, just imagine the detailed possibilities (dat fog)! Kojima in a position of power for the game could be great or completely miss the point since nothing he's done has really been in the Survival-horror genre.

If nothing, he'd be sure to make the next game feel epic in scale compared to any of its predecessors :P
Silent Hill with ten types of rations, killing a boss by adjusting the system clock, hour-long cutscenes, and cigarettes to create your own fog to scare the crap out of monsters and make them give you their dog tags... Yeah, I'd watch somebody play that.
Well, the last Castlevania has Kojima involved and....well,it's not a great game.
I don't say Castlevania Lords of Shadow is ugly,it has a good graphic engine, several funny section but,for me,it's boring for the most time.Even on Paladin the game is a piece of cake,it has no story.I prefer the "old" Castlevania games, not this new "reboot".

I did like how the game began the whole village was attacked by werewolves it was badass.

But after that it fell flat :(
Well after 2 months of distraction of other things I finally played this game and:

(Note I did not went far in the game but I reached the town itself)

Its..............Suprisingly Good. Why is this game looked down uponed? This game is almost exactly like the old Silent Hills, but now with Third-Person Controls (I still like Fixed Camara) and the Town of Sillent Hill itself is pretty huge, biggest town size to date.

What I really like is the character Murphy Pendleton, I don't know I just like him for some reason.

Again why is this game negatively received?
