It looks kinda interesting, but the trailer on its Steam page isn't the most informative. On one hand it hasn't been very well reviewed, but on the other there's a patch out now reworking the game's script and redoing all the voice work (one of the things people complained about) and it's 33% off.

So I was hoping someone who had played it could tell me how the game is like and whether or not it's good. Why did I come here when the game is on Steam? I just trust you guys more when it comes to rpgs.
I liked what I have tried so far and found no faults mind you I am not very far in the game
I've put 20 hours into it.. haven't finished it yet. It's got a similar gameplay style as the Mass Effect series, but without much shooting, the game is mostly melee focused. The voice acting is actually pretty decent, there are only 1 or 2 characters voice acting that bothered me so far.

The story doesn't seem to be that great so far, but for a low budget game I'm not expecting much.. I would hold off on buying the game on Steam, wait until the Amazon bundles go back up. $10 for 5 games is a much better deal.

As for the faults, the combat does need major improvements, but it's not that bad. The countering system could be fixed without too much effort.. the problem I have now is I don't know when to block.. because half the time when I do try to block/counter.. the AI misses me anyway, so my block is wasted on a miss. The lock-on system is crappy as well, I've avoided using it all-together because it makes the game harder to play for me. Your partner is pretty much used as a decoy, he/she doesn't really do much damage.

Overall, it's a good game if you can get it cheap, but not worth the asking price on Steam currently. Just wait for the Amazon bundles ;)

Bumping my thread to try and get some more opinions.
I'm on the fence too; I think the best thing to do is just sit it out for another couple of weeks and get it during the Steam sale. I can only assume it will have a bigger discount then.

Also, why wouldn't you come here for advice about Steam games :P that's where I would go.

I think there's a decent chance that Steam keys will be restocked on Amazon, just have to wait till Tony (Amazon rep) gets back on the 24th since he pretty much takes care of most of the digital game market on Amazon.

I highly doubt any kind of Steam sale will be able to compete with the Amazon bundles that were up a few days ago.

More info here (if you haven't seen it):

I enjoyed it, took me about 15 hours to get through it. About the right size for its price, i felt i got my moneys worth even without a sale.

I might give it a second run through if they've redone some of the voice stuff, it suffered the standard 'european game translated to english' thing where some of the conversations didn't make any sense.
Got it.Played a few hours
Fugly graphics. Voice acting subpar
Fighting is awkward
Am i expecting too much?. the trailers and hyper made it out better than it is
The voice acting and graphics are what really turns me off the game

FYI, it's had its English script and voicing fully reworked, which is why it's on sale. So disregard any comments about the script/voice acting and check the opening video linked in the article below instead.

It doesn't seem like they changed much with the voice acting, I only noticed 2 characters that have different actors now (the 2 characters from the video). Innocence is the only character that I thought had terrible voice acting, the rest were decent enough.

The script isn't very good, I'm not sure what they changed other than Innocence's lines, and the opening cinematic.

However, the biggest issue is the combat, which I already mentioned. That, and the loot. I finished the game and saved up way too much loot. My suggestion is to use all of your loot to craft grenades and fluid injections. Traps are completely useless, and there aren't many weapons/armor in the game so you probably won't spend much loot crafting upgrades. Nail gun is useful at the beginning of the game, but is useless later on.. so not much of a reason to craft ammo for it.

Countering and the lock-on system still need to be fixed..

For the price (which was $2 in the Amazon bundle for me), I think you may be expecting too much. i thought the graphics were quite good for an indie game, but I had them maxed out.. voice acting is also decent and better than I expected for an indie title, but I agree the combat needs reworking.

It's a pretty amatuerish game really. Both in gameplay and writing, the devs show A LOT of inexperience. They're trying to pull off the uncompromising and brazen feel of The Witcher. I'm not feeling it...

$2 fine in bundle, but what about all those people who bought it fullprice on Steam ..$20 wasnt it?. As an aside, whats your opinion on what indies should be priced at (non bundle) when launched?...maybe i was too harsh on graphics.. but the voice acting and now i think about it..yeah agree with script....

I wouldn't have paid more than $5. I guess $20 is a "fair" MSRP for the game, but the game is worth $10 max to me. I'm biased though, I almost never pay full price for games.
