Rolodzeo: Wait... are there people who does not like portal?
*raises hand*

Actually, Portal is the only Valve game I like. Portal 2 is the one I don't like. I felt like it squandered many of the opportunities a sequel could provide, was too self-indulgent and at the same time expanded the game in ways I think were the wrong direction to go. Instead of a nice, elegant package like the first, you got something that felt like it was trying too hard to capture the spark of the original.

And when it comes to the original, I just think it's a cool little game. I don't really mind if people claim Portal and Valve's games are gods among gaming, because even though I don't like the second and like Portal less than most people, it's easy to see that they are quality products.

I did actually enjoy what I played of Magrunner (though it was only for an hour or two so far, as I just got it from this promotion) more than Portal. I know it's not as original, nor as elegant in its design, but I also feel it has a humbler, more down-to-earth feel to it, ironically despite its otherworldy atmosphere. Whenever I play Valve's games, I feel like I'm being stuck at a party with the guy with the acoustic guitar who doesn't outright say he's a fantastic musician, but whose smug showmanship always feels like he's touting his own horn as he performs. That I don't get that feel from Magrunner is the primary reason I like it better.

This kind of variety in opinion must be the reason there's 7 billion or so of us humans. ;)
Is it just me, or did the Magrunner gamecard disappear?!
I wanted a free copy of Witcher 3 preorder. GOG sucks!

(To be clear, this is sarcasm directed toward ungrateful people who have, more or less, said the same thing without sarcasm. So sad.)

I think that sentence was grammatically correct :D - and I still can't find Magrunner on GOG o.0

Yeah I'm just messing with the English language :D and I think they hide the pages of free promo games to stop people saving up loads of gift copies or something like that.

Haha, okay :P
Yeah, was thinking along the same lines myself, was probably the best option for them or something.
As some of the previous forum users have stated, it is quiet a good game indeed. I got it a while back when it first came out, partially because I like puzzles, and partially because I am a HUGE Lovecraft fanatic. The story is wonderful, and if you are like me and dig Lovecraft I suggest this game highly. There is only one puzzle that annoyed me (timing was a big deal in it due to a "deep" (heh word play) problem), but every other puzzle you have quiet a bit of time to figure out. I think it probably has one of my favourite stories in a game, and the puzzles are challenging but not impossible. If you are curious, now is no worse a time than any to get this game since even if you don't end up liking it, it doesn't cost you a penny. :)

ceterum: Um, no, WingedKagouti is right. I'm not lazy, and quite appaled you would think so, haha. I just have limited space on this compy, and so I don't want to download any old game that will just sit there and take up space.

pimpmonkey2382: No worries. :P I'm just messing around, don't mind me.
Okay ;)

Thanks for all the great replies, guys! Looks like I'll try it out.

It's free, does it matter?

ceterum: Well, Magrunner is free now, but is it worth it? Yeah, it's free, so there is no reason NOT to get it, but is it fun? Should I bother downloading it?
It is, yes. Very fun platforming, and nice puzzle solving. Wait till the monsters pop up :D

P1na: I found the puzzles to be reasonably fun, but the story... not so much. And without a story, I lose motivation to solve the puzzles. Played until I got stuck on some level and left it there.

My experience exactly.
