F4LL0UT: Yelling "I want a refund!!!111" is a solution to any problem, isn't it. <.<

Khadgar42: Actually she/he asked pretty politely, don't you think?
I think it did, indeed. It's tough to hear about the bad "parts" of GOG, but we need to admit some things need to improve on their end. :) Perhaps not in this case, but in others...
Refund, refund, eat them up, yum?

Started working but then it stopped after around 200mb and it counted the file as completed even though it's a 1.5 gb file, back to not being able to download anything again.
Anyway this thread doesn't realy have anything to offer i'm afraid,I was a bit frustrated but i'll just keep trying and if it doesn't work i'll ask a friend to download it for me.

Maybe it's a stupid idea , but have you checked your security software and firewall settings ?

Yes,disabling all of those doesn't change a thing.
That is exactly what happened to me when my router died though I doubt that's the problem here. For what it's worth I would like to thank the OP for being as composed as they have been. A lot of folks just come in here screaming and refusing to listen to anyone or anything. I can't honestly say in the same situation I'd be quite so level headed so my hats off to you.

Yeah, the OP was very polite.
I would advice you to contact GOG support directly, for sake of long-term use. If you are up for it, add GOG Downloader's log file (it should be C:\Users\your_profile\AppData\Local\GOGDownloader\output.log). If you are trying to download Dragon Commander, it seems there is an issue.

Good luck!

Try to download the game with IDM . I'm using this software since years .
Issues with the Downloader have been resolved, please relaunch the application and log in again.
Don't trust Venom; he tried to kill Spider-Man.

SEVERAL TIMES!

True, actually. But I'm still annoyed by the fact how many users instantly demand a refund when something doesn't work instantly, especially considering that they often experience problems nobody else (or barely anyone) encounters and thus the problem lies elsewhere, not with the distributor nor developer/publisher.

And even if Tanque was rather calm and polite, I think it's still pretty darn extreme to ask for a refund before asking for help with the issue itself, plus it seemed pretty clear that he was going for getting money back + torrenting which simply isn't okay.

True, but in some countries screaming for a refund actually helps a lot solving your problems.
To be honest If my finely tuned preemptive superevolved mega-brain isn't able to figure out why game doesn't work on my machine I would want a refund too, especially if I'm too lazy to check all possible options. I'm paying money for a service/item, if that doesn't work I ask the seller for a refund or repair.
I have been raised that way.

Indeed, the Deutsche Bahn has actually already given me a few refunds, I even got a refund (in form of a coupon for a free game) from a Polish publisher when it turned out that their release of Fallout 3 is pretty much the only one without GFWL support (and thus without compatibility with the DLC - at least until they released it in retail themselves which happened much later), despite including the English language version. But even if it may work sometimes, I'd only be willing to demand a refund if a) the problems aren't caused by me or another party unrelated to the distributor/publisher/manufacturer and b) there was no obvious warnings that the problem may occur or there was no disclaimer for the case it occurs.

Well, I've been raised as a DOS user which means that having to go through some trouble before a game runs was perfectly natural and even if I'd end up unable to play a game I'd think that it's because something's wrong on my side (even if it was obvious that the developers were largely responsible for which game run out of the box and which are hard to get running). I guess that's the big ideological difference between people who grew up with DOS or say SNES games (or simply became PC gamers much later). :p

I wouldn't torrent the game if I got a refund,I would buy it somewhere else.

I've already contacted support and hopefully my issue can be fixed.
