Sorry if this has been asked.. I heard from my friends that the PSN network was hacked and millions of gamers credit card information was compromised..

I like to know is GOG payment server SECURE?? AS i'm really afraid my credit card information will be compromised and i'll be in alot of hassle to cancel my credit card and create a new account.

Thanks
Nothing on the internet is 100% secure, ever. Microsoft.com is not 100% secure.

GOG does have a secure system that does the best it can to prevent anything from happening though, the same as most respected websites. It's not some rinky-dink operation if that is what you are asking. Neither was Sony's of course.

Yes, we comply with all industry standarts regarding safety of transactions on our website. Also, we do not store your credit card number, so there is nothing to be hacked once your purchase is complete.

nothing is ever 100% secure

People have hacked into Wall street and the Pentagon before
Is the Witcher2 available for pre-load yet? I don't see the option for me to do so. When can i make payment?

Not to mention, you could go to a high street shop to buy something and get mugged. I'm sure the crime rate for muggings in any given country (rich or poor) will be far higher than the rate of people getting their credit card details stolen via the internet, even more so if you don't count people who foolishly go onto obviously fake versions of legit sites and blithely enter all their details.

I do like the fact that you guys don't store the number - definitely makes me feel safer about using GOG.

We will make an announcement on the front page once TW2 is available for pre-download.
I would like to KNOW is my country affected by censorship? I don't want the censored version!.

Also i wan't to buy another Collector's Edition of TW2 but is not available in my country. Can i pre-order it here and can be delivered to me? TQ

Edit
My house internet connection is very slow. Can i download it from my friend house using my account and later copy the preloaded data to my PC and just download the remaining 50MB on May17th? TQ

GameRager: But what if they REARRANGE MY GOG SHELF?!? 0.O
Simple, you create a custom client that reads a screenshot of your shelf as you want it to look (Photoshop in a box shot of Grim Fandango and Secret of Monkey Island for interestnig results), continuously checks if the shelf looks different from the image and automatically rearranges it to fit.

I don't think your "simple" and my "simple" share a lot of overlap. :P

That's a little bit of an exaggeration, there is presumably contact information there. At least for our email and username.

Still, I think it's admirable that you guys actually do the right thing when it comes to CC details, way too many shops make it hard or impossible to delete that information. And really with the number of breaches out there shops should be banned from storing them after the transaction is complete.

As Venom says, you always have to put in your number because they don't store it, but the real question is... is YOUR computer secure? :)

Deviating here a bit, I think Steam does store credit card information and that now worries me a little.

Last I checked, which were a mere few days ago with Steam there is an option to save your information which you can uncheck. I always uncheck "store my details" when purchasing on Steam, therefore I have to put in my name & address every time I want to purchase aswell. So while the option is there to store your info, you can opt out of it aswell.
If you don't trust Gog's security, you can pay with PayPal which goes through PayPal instead of Gog. But then it comes down to whether or not you trust PayPal. :P
