Zolgar: And by the way, I've got some ocean front property for sale right here in Arizona, if you act RIGHT NOW, I'll throw the Golden Gate Bridge in absolutely free!

That's a good song. :D

Any chance I can get some photos of said property?

Zolgar: And, every GOG game on your computer will count as 1 vote for Sarah Palin, 2012. >.> (Unless you're not American, then it counts as 2 votes.)

Um... I realize you were making a joke but lets be very clear. Not that the Republicans were/are much better but you do realize that the current Administration has appointed two of RIAA's pet lawyers in the Justice Department, the Anti-Trust HMFIC thinks Microsoft is just dandy but Google is a serious threat and of course here's just one of many of Bidens "love fests" with the MPAA and their ilk (please note the "sided with the RIAA" link near the bottom of the article).

Okay fine, I'll change it to Barney Fife. :p
I just used Palin because.. pretty much everyone I know likes to make fun of Palin. And because she's the president in 2018 when the zombie apocalypse occurs.
.. long story.
I have no political agenda for, or against, Palin in that statement.

GOG is great...I have DLed from the abandonware sites for years, but the games are often crippled or don't run well even under DosBox, in the case of the very old ones...
I love the fact that any old games I find here that I missed and want to play will run fine under my modern hardware and be the full and complete game.
The prices are very reasonable and the convenience and reliability are very welcome.

Zolgar: No I am sorry.
GOG is shutting down.
Every game that has been purchased from GOG will be erased from your hard drive.
It will also randomly delete other files from your hard drive while it's at it.
And it will make your toilet stop flushing.
And it will give you the Swine Flu.

First bid! I'll go 5 bucks....or I can get a GOG game before they go away? Hm, ay there's the rub.

Shut up.
Easy to use, streight forward, lot's of old memorable titles and more coming soon. What more can I ask for?
The upcoming releases column seems to be reserved for games that require quite a lot of work to convert. Given the number of new releases that are constantly coming out, I don't see how there are any problems. TOCA 3 was most likely due to the huge amount of licensing in that game.
Although I think that this point is far off, I can't help but feel that GOG will eventually come to a point when there are no more publishers and developers to sign on, and I wonder what'll happen then.

That's simple - we will have every game ever created on GOG ;).
But seriously - when there will be no more old games to strive for, GOG will probably just try to go for some new ones... But we're talking distant future now.
Or... are we :> ?

Well, obviously as time goes on, new games will become old games. I expect Oblivion on here in a few years time... if GOG is still around.

Well - sure, that's not the point. The point is - they acquire old games a lot faster than games are made. Makes you wonder about the moment they'll have all the games "old enough".
If I were them - I wouldn't just sit on my hands and say "Oh, well - let's just wait for some more games to become old". I'd go for the newer ones.
