I've always played PC games on a laptop for as long as I've owned PC games, and I've noticed that I tend to enjoy these games significantly less than others seem to. I prefer playing my games with a controller than a mouse and keyboard, but maybe it's because the keyboard at hand is on the actual computer itself...? Somebody said it could be that I subconsciously dislike PC games as a whole, though I disproved that with Terraria(also played without a controller), so maybe I wouldn't have as many problems getting into PC games as I do if I played on a desktop... What do you think?

I find playing games on a laptop can be a little bit like watching a movie while someone in the room is standing up.... it just doesn't quite feel rite.

Laptops aren't the best gaming machines IMO, but it more or less depends on what you prefer too, if you don't like sitting behind a desk but on the couch in the living room a laptop is better, then again a tablet might be even better than a laptop.
From a technical point of view it is hard to beat the performancelevel of a desktop computer and even if it does laptops are limited in their performance before the accumulated heat starts to shut components down, but this is only an issue with games that are demanding.
And like you said more or less, with a desktop you can have a good keyboard/mouse and display, well technically you can with a laptop too but then you use it like a desktop anyway.

get yourself some comfie place to put a pc and where you could fully using it. there nothing wrong to use a controller. i have it for some sport game

A desktop offers a much more comfortable and stable platform, in my experience. I seriously recommend one. It doesn't even have to be super advanced, I just found laptop gaming to be more cumbersome and distracting. The difference between a sedan and a peppy small car (oddly, reverse the sizes for that to make sense).
Also, a real keyboard, even if an office keyboard, is much, much better with a real mouse. I don't use a controller, but for certain games, I can see why you would (FPSs, no; TPSs, yes).

One thing's for sure, laptop keyboards are horrible. To really appreciate the mouse+keyboard control scheme, you need to get yourself a well-made comfortable keyboard.

Yes, put it on a desk, get a nice chair, and try and put it where there is minimal sunlight to get on the screen or in your eyes. I've not used a desk in months, and it really stinks. (In case anyone is curious, I play with the monitor on a box and my butt on the floor sitting in a million different positions throughout a play session. The only benefit being when I play Rome: Total War and my servant girls feed me grapes as I lounge.)

or just do what i do, put the lcd on the floor and get ur self some mattress/bed ;P

I actually love just sprawling some thick Korean blankets on the floor and using that to sleep, which if I did I could keep my computer in my room, but as it stands I have no room in my room and keep it in another room, which (shockingly enough) has no room for a desk. But, if I get the chance, I'll take your suggestion.

Personally, not to me. I've been a laptop gamer for more than a decade now, had not had a desktop since then. I do not play with controller, so I cannot comment on that, and until a few months back I always played with the laptop keyboard. Nowadays I use a USB keyboard plugged on the laptop, not because I find laptop keyboard inconvenient though.

Depends on what type of games you wanna play . I've played a lot of TBS games on my laptop, and it was just fine . RTS worked pretty well too, tho not as good as on a desktop, while Action/Shooter games (especially third-person ones) and racing/sports games usually don't work very well .

You can, but I think the big thing is that you absolutely have to get a mouse and a separate keyboard. The design of the laptop is such that you're going to be irritating your neck or your arms due to the spacing. But, if you move the keyboard away from the display, you can make things a lot more comfortable ergonomically.

Laptops are perfect for playing older games with lower resolutions (320 x 240 to 1024 x 768), also a smaller screen doesn't make your eyes tire as quickly. My first desktop PC had a 14" monitor so playing old games on a laptop feels more authentic than playing on a large monitor. I wish I had a laptop when I was younger and used to carry my desktop PC to friends houses on foot for LAN but laptops were unaffordable to me back then and when 3d cards started coming up they weren't available for laptops.
