So I think me and my brother are finally gonna get what we need to play Battlefield 3 (and the Witcher 2 aswell) on our desktop PC in mabye August but damn it a lot of gamer's experiance is really trying to alieanate me from Battlefield 3 such as the rent a server service that practically made dedicated servers disappear (similar to MW2s situation on PC) and the issues that came with BF3 Premium such as non premium players cannot play with premium players oh and everone who keeps insisting that Battlefield 3 is just Call of Duty with vehicles and bigger maps and Bad Company 2 is better.

But I do not want to play Bad Company 2 because Battlefield 3 feels like it has more like things missing from Bad Company like I feel as though Bad Company 2 is like Gears of War 1 and Assassin's Creed 1 and Battlefield 3 is Gears 2 and AC2 which was better.

sigh just help me out my fellow GOGers

edit: My definatly gonna get the thing we need to upgrade the computer to play BF3 and other games well this month

The new patch completely ruined it for me. (Rent-a-servers)

My defense would be this: can't you just find a good server with someone won't boot you out because he's a sore loser and his rules are good like we have forums for that
I don't see a legitimate reason for you to not play Bad Company 2. BF3 has better graphics and a more "Battlefield"-like experience, and just freaking awesome effects, but I think I had more fun with BC2. I would play that game before it loses all its players just to see if you like it.

I like BF3, and I thought Premium was worth it, but I don't know if I'd recommend it. It might be a bit like CoD... and I might like that about it.

I already played enough of Bad Company 2's campaign and some of its multiplayer and the I look at BF3 and it has all things that I wished were in Bad Company 2 (I do not care if the are minor they are big for me) you can prone on the ground which is great for sniping (honestly why was that not in BF:BC2) Jets, Bigger Maps on the PC version and you can truly aim down the sights in shotguns for example

I understand how you feel about the things you listed, because I felt the same way. However, I realized how much more fun I had with BC2 when I started playing BF3. They are both worth playing, and you should probably go ahead and get BF3 and possibly even Premium, but I would milk BC2 for every last ounce of fun you can get if you still enjoy playing it at all.

If I do I am more interersted in Bad Company 2 Vietnam because since I am playing Battlefield 3 in a modern setting then Bad company 2 vanilla seems unnecassary also I was dissapointed in how unrealistic (in setting and feel and things) cod black ops had i mean bullpup rifles in the 1960s come on
un...realistic? Both Battlefield and CoD Are unrealistic, If you are looking for realistic play ARMA 2 Without Day Z.
I've had nothing but good experience with BF3, except for a few problems with punkbuster that had an easy fix. The game is extremely fun on a PC. I would not recommend it, or any PVP FPS for that matter, on a console. So yes, I would recommend it.

On another note, I'd like some people to play with (with voice comms), so if you guys start playing and want a decent third person to tag along, let me know.

I did not meant realistic in gameplay I meant that Black Ops has weapons any other things that were not from the 1960s which is unrealistic Bad Company 2 does not have that problem

and trust me I know what a realistic tactical military first person shooters are like Arma and Rainbow Six before Lockdown I love the genre 10x better then these arcady unrealistic games like Call of Duty but I am a gamer that plays a variety of games so I will at least get into one of the arcady military shooters and out of all of them:
Call of Duty, Battlefield, Medal of Honor, and Counter Strike I prefer Battlefield
I will recommend it. Granted, some of the gamers you'll meet will ruin it for you (people who run around on open spaces with shotguns that somehow are more powerful than sniper rifles) but the game really is good.

The shotguns are especially powerful at that dockyard map.
