Hi,

I just pre-ordered DLC IV, and i noticed, to my giggling joy, that their implementing a Co-Op mode in the upcoming patch. This is my chance to play the game online without making a complete ass of myself, but i only have one friend who plays the game (this is the ONE game in the Settlers series that my girlfriend is NOT crazy about).

So I'm just wondering if any of the friendly people in this community is playing Settlers 7..? If not, you should give it a chance (if you haven't). Best builder-strategy game I've played for a VERY long time.

Voight-Kampff: Snip
The last Settlers game I played was HoK
Not touching the game with a 10 foot pole until the DRM is sorted out. I was fine with the quite light DRM AC: Brotherhood implemented, since it was so easy to crack.

Last I heard, you still need to connect to the net each time you play the game, so for me that's a big no-no.

That is pretty much the response i was expecting. A lot of people are loosing out on a great game because of that damn DRM.
I've passed on many of what I suspect would be great games due to DRM. I passed on this one as well. Too bad, but I'm not tossing my money towards these DRM schemes.
Great game, played it around a year ago, courtesy of my friend, why bought it. The campaingn was a tad short, considering how many maps were more or less tutorialish. Anyhow, can't wait for it to hit GOG with all them extras [dlcs]. It's nice to see the Settlers are still fresh and interesting.

Btw. Wasn't the DRM loosened up a bit in one of the patches?

Btw2. The music is great, YOU HEAR THAT VAGABOND?:P
I tried the demo, it looked like a good game. But then I found out about the crazy DRM so Ubi lost a sale. If they remove it or make it much less painful via a patch, I will certainly buy the game. But with that crazy DRM, I won't even consider buying that crippled game for more than 5-10€.
I bought the collectors edition for about 15 €, when it was on sale about a year ago.

Yes, the DRM is shit, but they have already softened it. The Game will not automatically freeze instantly anymore, when the connection is lost :)

Loving the game, but I think I suck too much in the Skirmish Maps, only survive for about 5 minutes against the AI :(

Wiooooooooth? Someone said the music was NOT great? Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit.
The DRM was loosened? I hadn't noticed. Luckily, i have a steady connection, and i hardly ever leave the apartment, so I'm good.. Connection-wise. :P

Can you boot it up offline?

No, you still must be connected to the internet, but it does not check all the time if you are connected after you are logged in... just every 5 minutes or so :)

Crap. I want to play that game so badly, but I play without connection quite often... This is angering me
Was thinking of getting it at release then the DRM killed it for me after the joy of C&C 4 DRM i didnt want another permanant internet access single player game
I predict that if they ever remove the DRM this game will get a renaissance. Considering how many people has passed on it for the DRM alone. The game is amazing, you should be all over it as soon as the DRM is killed off. I'll let you know when. ;)
