Trelow: Hmmm, first time I logged after it was introduced, I was given the option to use it or not. Not very forcey.

You are given the option to check it out or just go to your inbox, but it is still automatically activated, no matter which you choose.

Hasn't done anything for me, let alone everything. Just a little Simon Says in the list that I can make go away.
Ahhh, you have to have a "Public" Profile. To that I say, facepalm. Don't make a "Public" profile, if you don't want your information public.
Seriously, are things going so well in the world, that this is the biggest conspiracy we can come up with this week?
this is what they should have done with Wave... stuff it down people's throats in the gmail interface.

Exactly. Wonderful tool to have at your disposal.

When I logged onto my GMail today, it asked me if I wanted to integrate this thing. I was like "Hell no, stay the fuck out of my inbox!" I agree with the people saying that that is just too much of an intrusion.

The who what now? I haven't noticed any of this, but then that MAY be because I almost always use my gmail account through a real main client, not a web interface.
I do see the use of web applications, but I generally prefer using native desktop ones.
Which brings me to... is there a GOOD wave client out there, that is NOT just the web site stuck in a stripped-down browser?

Yeah so did I but then 2 people followed me and it seems to have made me follow them as well. Turning it off entirely seemed to fix it though

That would be nice, not really a fan of chrome and the overhead on IE with the chrome addon is even worse

I just logged into the actual gmail interface for the first time in over a year to shut this thing off. Whoever decided this needed to be integrated into gmail as opt out rather than opt in needs to be beaten within an inch of their life.
