Edit: Posting worthless comments like "ur just so whiny" is pointless and a blight on the forums. If you hate the thread that much, vote it down instead of wasting database space with a comment of no substance.
So it turns out that the IRC channel has the same abusive mentality as any other channel on the entire IRC network. Namely, it appears to be fine to instruct a channel member on proper behavior as an operator whilst conducting personal attacks (and other members violating the same instructions, scott free!) as well as banning members for misinterpretations and overall pettiness.
Since joining the channel I have been kicked and banned because an operator was self admittedly tired and not thinking straight. I've also been kicked because an operator misinterpreted me saying "lololol" as in "i hax ur windoze 98 lolo11oneoneeleven" in jest to a discussion on perceived computer security. Later, I was banned for saying "wololo" (a single word, not spammed across the entire buffer) after said petty operator announced he was going to bed. He apparently decided to set a permanent ban on my nickname and go to sleep, citing the previous kick (based on an understandable but unacceptable misinterpretation and thinking the previous quote of stupidity for the joke was part of "the word" that he has some kind of personal vendetta against) as the reason.
I have made two attempts to have this corrected, first with a lower operator and second with what the first operator told me was the "master" operator. Both of them refused to correct (or even so much as check logs or ask questions) the situation. Today I log in to IRC to check on the situation, and I'm greeted by the first operator banning me again saying "failure to appeal". This operator KNOWS that I have in fact contacted moderating staff and was even referred to HIGHER moderating staff by this person.
I realize operators are traditionally self serving, sometimes blatently dishonest people with no interest in anything but their own personal power plays but hopefully this will give people fair warning: IRC moderators will not cooperate with you under any circumstances. Saying "wololo" in jest will result in a permanent, irrevocable ban.

Although not having been banned or kicked (not for this reason), I'll second Skrylar.
It's understandable that repeating an annoying meme might get people upset, but in this case the meme (WOLOLO) is hardly annoying or even being spammed (EDIT: okay I might have missed this: http://gog.pastebin.com/m706b0586 ). Also it is related to a good old game, which appears to be the theme of the community in question.
But anyways, I'll put this short:
No one forces you to be an intolerant asshole on the internet, especially not on the IRC.
I might claim that I know a troll or an immature kid from the way they are communicating through IRC (or other text-based method), and it's not Skrylar who is that in this case.
I'll be on his "side" until someone convinces me otherwise.
Also, can't we all just get along?

But in no case that should be accepted as a reason for it. No one really obliges you to exploit your power, it's just the person himself who wants to probably extend his (or her) e-penis, or tries to "live up" for the responsibility by ignoring common sense, logic and reasoning.

Yep. You said \/\/0l0l0, or something like that. I've warned ya', you know? In fact, I've kicked multiple people (without banning them, of course) for saying wololo, which obviously means I'm pretty fed up with it. You're playing with fire? Well...
I wanted to take the ban back, but you've not only did THAT... You've also, after being banned, which would kinda lead most people to believe they shouldn't CONTINUE to piss me off, joined the chan as bee or something like that (and don't TRY to tell me you didn't), overcomming ban that was totally comming to you. Now, I wanted to take the BAN back... But after you've created this topic? Nah, I don't think so.

I rejoined the channel so I could monitor the activities of operators to send an appeal to a somewhat ludicrous banishment; and I like your attempt at spin control to make it seem like you're such a charitable soul.

I've never been kicked/banned on the IRC channel, because I utilize the Common Sense -o- Tron 3000. If you know wololo is the world's most annoying thing ever (and it is), THEN DON'T FUCKING DO IT. Simple.
I feel for you, I really do. But I think you saw it coming. Maybe you should start your own GOG IRC channel and duke it out with the current one or something.

Also the point of the thread is to warn people that operators will not cooperate with you under any circumstances, and that "wololo" is a (somewhat redicuously) permanent ban. I would say threads outlining what constitutes a permanent ban is of interest to the public.
Unless you're trying to hide it so as to trap people with it.

Ah, so you DID rejoin right after being banned, whatever the reason, that's good. I think if I search logs a bit I'll find you writing modificated version of wololo... But I don't think it's necessary.
The only time I was abusing my powers was while trying to overcome TheJoe's Ignore-thingie (which was, in fact, a bit of a challenge to me) and I don't really think I've harmed anyone during the process (of course, if TheJoe is here, he can say otherwise and I'll apologise to him).
But YOU did 2 things in one evening that would lead to permaban on pretty much any IRC chan, where someone is trying to keep order. You know, I don't care why you've re-joined, you did it, that's all that really matters.
Well, I think I've made myself clear...

Mind you that the topic did not state that it was a permanently bannable offense at the time of my banning. There has also been no effort to resolve the problem, only ops deferring me to other ops and general unhelpfulness.
