UPDATE 22.04.2011:
We have uploaded a new version of the Downloader (0.9.0.1218). Please download it at your convenience and let us know if any of the problems you experienced earlier still persist.
Major changes include:
fixed problems with logging on,
the Downloader no longer attempts to move files after changing the destination folder,
you can now change the number of concurrent downloads (1 to 10) in the Downloader's options, in case you think the Downloader is overusing your connection.

UPDATE #2 (22.04.2011):
Version 0.9.0.1224 is out, introducing some backend fixes.

Starkrun: Also i tried to link into gogdownloader://painkiller_black_edition
and it errored out unable to fetch data... so when i tried to Right Click remove from list and disk the program crashed...
The proper link for Painkiller is gogdownloader://painkiller, not gogdownloader://painkiller_black_edition - the gameid must match the address of the gamecard, which is http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/painkiller

Firek: the Downloader no longer attempts to move files after changing the destination folder,
Hmm, I thought that was pretty convenient, automagically keeping all GOG downloads in the same location.

I know, but our focus is to have the Downloader ready to do its job before The Witcher 2 is ready for predownloading. Huge game and all that. We'll add and/or polish the convenient automagical stuff when time allows. ;)

With this one, severing the connection temporarily stops the download permanently. Restarting the downloader fixes this. But wasn't necessary in the previous version.

It sometimes doesn't quit out properly when minimised. I needed to use Task Manager to close it. This was after the connection was severed. So maybe there is a bug affecting both things?
It works good and downloads as fast as my bandwidth allows.
Good job.

I can't recreate this problem on our end. It was easy to hang the previous version of this app by unplugging the network cable long enough for it to go into offline mode, but when I'm trying this now, it stubbornly resumes the download as soon as it's back in online mode.
Please triple-check that the old GOGDownloader.exe process has been killed before you launched the new one. As far as I can tell if the old process is still running, launching the new GOGDownloader.exe will only invoke the currently running process, even if it's not the same file. Maybe you encountered the problem in the older version?
The current version should show the version number 0.9.0.1224 (previous versions were 0.9.0.1125 and 0.9.0.1218).

I tried waiting for GOGDL to declare itself offline before restarting the connection and resuming. Same result. No continuation (despite recognising that it was online again) and impossible to close without Task Manager.

I just tried running the old GOGDL and it's having the same problems now. I don't know why I didn't notice that before, but it doesn't seem to be a problem introduced with the latest version.

Closing GOGDL (with Task Manager if need be) and restarting solves the problem. But there does seem to be a problem resuming downloads without restarting and problems closing it down if it's having difficulty resuming.

Please kill the GOGDownloader process, download the latest version we uploaded minutes ago, launch it, make sure the version number shown is 0.9.0.1224 and try to recreate the connection problem.

That version alleviates both problems I was having.
I'm still having the exact same problems with the latest version:

1. Download stops for no apparent reason after a few minutes - connection at my end is fine, but the downloader shows 'offline'. Downloader goes back 'online' after a few seconds, but doesn't resume.

2. I am still only able to quit the application by killing it in Task Manager.
I still have the same loggin problems :(

may also note that, when I cancel the loggin screen twice I cannot click the loggin button.

Can you please click Options in the downloader and change the number of concurrent connections to 1 and click OK button (don't press enter) then restart the downloader and tell me if this problem is still happening during downloads?

Well, it stays connected now, but the download speed just gets slower and slower until it eventually reaches 0 KB/s and refuses to do anything else until I restart.

EDIT: Quit button now works!
