We have uploaded a new version of the Downloader (0.9.0.1218). Please download it at your convenience and let us know if any of the problems you experienced earlier still persist.
Major changes include:

the Downloader no longer attempts to move files after changing the destination folder,
you can now change the number of concurrent downloads (1 to 10) in the Downloader's options, in case you think the Downloader is overusing your connection.

When trying to add a download through Internet Explorer 9 I get
"gogdownloader://painkiller/ is not a valid Win32 application."

followed by
"Unable to open this helper application for gogdownloader://painkiller/.

The protocol specified in this address is not valid. Make sure you address is correct, and try again."

What do I do? :(
The downloader is not working for me. I've installed it, but when I click the "Add game to Downloader" link it displays an error: "No registered application for this extension",

Is anyone else having the same problem? I'm using the latest Opera and Windows XP.

EDIT: I got it working, Opera had a false link to the program in the settings. Fixing that corrected the problem.

Doh, now I have to run WINE for the downloader too. I guess it's back to browser downloads for me...

sudo apt-get install build-essential libhtmlcxx-dev libcurl4-openssl-dev
curl "https://pzt.me/aozf@raw" -o gogdownloader.cpp
g++ gogdownloader.cpp -Wall -lcurl -lhtmlcxx -o gogdownloader

or if you need GUI: JGoGDownloader

No matter what I try it crashes after I enter my login information.

The last version of the downloader worked fine for me, .930. I wish I hadn't uninstalled as there doesn't seem to be a downloader archive unless I'm completely missing it on the site.

are you using the v0.9.0.1336 available at http://www.gog.com/download/GOGDownloader.0.9.0.1336.zip ?
For all IE8 users, the file doesn't seem to download right so i've hosted it here:

Hmmm, your link seems all busted to shit.
Copy and pasting it into the searchbar works however, thanks!

Odd, when I put in the same link as you have into GoG it works, wonder why?

Thanks for responding. Yes, I am using the newest build from today that you linked. I have my firewall settings set to allow it, and I've tried it with both Chrome and the latest IE. Windows always shuts down the downloader after I enter my login info in though. When I add a game to the downloader I can see it add the "Pending" download to the program, but when I login it crashes it.
GOGDownloader.0.9.0.1336 login problem.

It won't accept my Login/Password credentials... just keeps asking for it over and over.

Just tried redownloading and reinstalling the downloader. Same problem as before... login credentials not being accepted. It just keeps prompting me over and over. To double-check, I logged off GOG and re-logged in to make sure I remembered my password.

This is from WinXP SP 3, Firefox 3.6.10

I can download using the browser, which works fine as always.

SOLVED... the downloader will not accept "=" equal-signs in my password, although GOG website will. Changed password and now downloader works.

So this is the first time I'm using the downloader. Version 0.9.0.1336

I occasionally get the following error though:
(E10005): duplicate call (each call can be made only once, change nonce!)

It tends to happen when I click on the download link when the downloader isn't arleady running. If I click through the error message and retry the download link, it works fine.

Windows 7 64
Firefox 4.0.1 (happens in IE as well)
Disabling my virus scanner and firewall didn't help

I copied the downloader to a custom games folder and I changed the temporary download location to the same folder (instead of using the Documents folder).

Greetings management and users of GoG:

New downloader worked fine. Only issue i had was full load GPU activity (99%) withouth any graphical demanding application, just browsing and downloading a game from GoG.

This has been a reported problem of my Catalyst 11.2 drivers but this is the first time it has happened to me. Today, the only thing outside my routine was using the new downloader so i guess the problem could be linked to it.

So try to take that into account when using the downloader and check your GPU activity, so we can verify if its a wide spread issue, and make the GoG management aware so they can take action.

Happy rest of the day.

GOG: HERE IS YOUR DOWNLOADER SPECIFIC PROBLEM

My password had an equal-sign in it, and I could not get logged in with the downloader. It just kept prompting me for login/password over and over. On a "hunch" I changed my password to remove the equal-sign, and now the downloader works!

Please look into this, as there may be other "special characters" in other people's passwords that your program is not accepting. Thanks!

ONE MORE PROBLEM...

After the download, if I right-click and select "Launch Installer" it immediately starts the installation. However, if I just click the "Install" link it can sometimes take a minute or more for the installer to launch. And if I click it multiple times (because nothing is happening) I get multiple installer windows eventually popping up.

Also, after the installer exits, there is always "garbage" on the screen where that "Checking Integrity" progress bar was. I have to "drag" another window over that area to "scrub away" the garbage. I haven't had to do that since Windows 3.1 days! So maybe this is actually a "retro feature from yesteryear"! :)

I'm still having this weird problem where the GOG Downloader is running fine but I can't seem to get the window to pop up. It just stays in the taskbar and I can see the preview by mousing over it but I can't control it. It's useless to me this way. I am using Windows 7 64-bit.
