According to Tom's Hardware, Descent may be the first 'revived IP' from Interplay... wonder what others will follow?

You buggered up your link.

whoops, sorry about that and thanks for the fix!
Interplay seem to be actually producing games again. I wonder what's got into them? :P
But seriously though, this could be very good news. One of the things I dislike most about the new Interplay is how they basically do nothing more than sit on old IPs. Seeing these IPs brought back and... hell, maybe even some of the glory of the Interplay of old return... This could be good.
They have already stated that they have plans for these franchises two years ago:

But information that they actually are working on something is surprising.
"Apparently the company is selling millions of shares of Interplay stock to Frederic Chesnais and MicroProse Software..."
MicroProse!? That can't be the same MicroProse we know and love, it doesn't exist anymore.
Googling....
Ah, MicroProse in name only:

Very cool, potentially. Interplay just won't die haha.
I'd love a Dark Alliance game on PC. :)
Oh, look, another episode in the "I have no more ideas so I take the past ones and rape them violently" series....

I always liked both MDKs, though not as part of the same franchise. MDK2 is simply too different and too much slapstick. But they're great games. I just happen to like MDK1 a bit more.
Decent I never liked, even though I own a retail Anniversary Edition. (It came on a magazine bundle)
Pssh, yeah, and it'll be released when their Fallout MMO comes out (Which is planned to ship never)!
Do they still have the rights to Freespace?
I wonder why Descent and not Freespace, otherwise.

Both have decent fan bases, Descent is still probably more famous overall. I would loooove a new Freespace game, but I feel like at this point it would have to venture into the let's take hte fight to the Shivans aspect where you'd discover all this stuff about them. I kinda like having the Shivan's as a mysterious unstoppable force rather than something that's explained... like the Force. Stupid new movies.
Interplay is fun. They simply won't go away. :P
A new Descent game would be nice. As long as they don't try to make it too complicated with lots of new idéas and features. Give me something like Descent 1 with modern graphics and I'll be very happy.
Ugh. Imagine MDK in a post-Halo/Xbawx world.
Did you just throw up?
Descent could work though.
