It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Yay, to any of you IE fans. If they exist.

On an unrelated note, my parents put part of my college fund in Google stock.
Hmm yes well.... hm...
Oh great, my pc needs slow down I must download and install this.
its quite good so far, not seen enough for it to justify not being called IE 7.1 though

So, did they make it a FF clone?
Like I said, its IE7.1

I am not sure what that means in regard to what has been changed.
I'll have to give them credit for working on it and doing something. There are improvements to speed & render, slightly more compliant to standards and so on. But it still needs work. As do IEs competitors really.
I'm in no rush for two reasons.
1) I'm so use to a collection of add-ons for Fx. I pretty much can't stand the web without popup and script blockers.
2) The hopeless site I have to use for work, that manages internet accounts and e-mail. Will not work with it. It also fails on other new browsers. *sigh*
hmm new slowdowns SW from MS.... *get's back to training of his flaming fox to attack blue bad E*

Ois: The hopeless site I have to use for work, that manages internet accounts and e-mail. Will not work with it. It also fails on other new browsers. *sigh*

Its got some kind of backwards compatibility mode, have you tried that?
I can't decide if it is funny or tiresome to see the comments about IE 8 making things slowdown from people who have not tried it. I'm leaning toward the latter.
And for the record, I use FF and haven't tried IE8 myself, so I make no judgment on it.
Its the best IE version released so far. Great for Microsoft sites. It opens simple sites faster than the other browsers (according to a research that I believe it is true), but still it lags behind nearly all of them when it comes to JavaScript. It is great, but it still has to go a long way to become my main browser (currently it is Firefox).
faster by 0.01 sec max 0.1 sec, really really big difference, let me think, should i use "superfast" and unreliable IE or "slow" (terrible 0.1 sec slower) opera or FF or anything else but with all those nice functions ?
IE is all the time just stealing ideas from others broswers, and doing them worse. Maybe in long future they will finaly make GOOD IE.

So, does it open pages faster than IE7?
I've been using it for a while (in beta/RC). Honestly it's more of the same: Slightly improved standards support, a little better security, a few new (or old depending on how you look at it) ideas implemented here and there and a little faster page rendering. Nothing revolutionary for sure, and that's fine.
It's not enough to make me change my choice in browsers (which is none of your fucking business thank you very much) but at least they're trying to improve. I just don't get why they can't seem to do better with standards compliance (only 20/100 on the acid 3 test apparently)? The other major browsers seem to do better with that.
They really need to start focusing on other areas like javascript speed, standards compliance, dropping ActiveX support, etc... instead of silly gadgets that most people probably won't use like accelerators or suggested sites.
Honestly I wish they'd just get out of the browser market and just focus their attention on other things.

I'm going to say it's beyond tiresome. It's annoying and certainly not amusing. But it does speak volumes about the level of intelligence of the people posting that trash.
