It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Oh look, they are still making Intershit Exploder? Who would have ever thought about that....
Oh nice, time to upgrade from RC1. At least it's tolerable to use since 7 (can barely work with a browser that doesn't have tabs), though Firefox is my default browser, and I often switch between FF3.1, Chrome and Safari4 just on a whim, Opera and IE are slightly lesser used.
Yes I'm a web developer, why do you ask? :-P
meh. I don't like supporting microsoft if i have a choice. Won't try it.
(i realize that my post does not contribute to the subject in any way but I just wanted to post my opinion)
I'm actually finding 8 to be slower than 7 and much slower than Firefox or Chrome on my system. I only keep it on my system for those occasional "IE only" sites that don't work with IETab in Firefox, so its no biggie. As for the "improvements" in this version... well, all I have to say is YAWWWWWN. Every "improvement" in IE is something that was already available through FF and other browsers by default or as a plugin. Way back when, IE was an innovation, now it just seems like a poor, bloated copy.
IE8 seem to be faster than IE7 and seem to open faster as well. Haven't had crashes within 2-3 hours use (IE7 crashed frequently for me. It may have been bad install but I found no way to reinstall or fix the installation).
MS seem to have copied the feature from chrome that made each tab a separate process so I supose it should be more stable (one tab crashing should no longer crash the browser) but this seem to have blown memory use out of propotion (I have several GOG pages open each taking about 60 MB of memory).
GOG forum BB code tags do not work properly in IE8 (they did not work in IE7 either). They still end in end of the text you're writing instead around highlighted text.
For some weird reason Gameguru mania page does not work at all for me but then again it did not work on IE7 either (it does work on FF, Avant Browser and Opera). Can someone test if it's something on my system or problem with IE?
I get following error message double clicking error message in bottom left corner:
Message: HTML Parsing Error: Unable to modify the parent container element before the child element is closed (KB927917)
Rivi: 0
Merkki: 0
Koodi: 0
URI: http://gameguru.box.sk/
Edit: why isn't the above gameguru link rendering correctly?
Test in FF: Gameguru mania <- Test in FF

Looks like you didn't use the forum tags correctly. I think you were trying to do this:
Gameguru mania page
but it looks like you may have used < > instead of the correct [ ] around the forum tags
In answer to your question about the site, I had no problems accessing it with IE 8.
EDIT - Holy crap, after I edited my post, it did the same exact thing to my link. Its definitely a forum issue, not a user issue.

Sounds like a good move in a time when the economy is recovering. Plus Google still has no competition so far
testing if link issue affects only IE8. Link posted with FF:
Gameguru mania
Link posted with IE8:
Gameguru mania
?!
Weird. Looking at page source code the links made with IE8 in above posts get following code:
<a class="post_a" target="_blank" href="http://&lt;a class="post_a" target="_blank" href="[url=http://gameguru.box.sk/">http://gameguru.box.sk/</a>">Gameguru]http://gameguru.box.sk/">http://gameguru.box.sk/</a>">Gameguru[/url] mania</a>
While link in post started with FF get the proper code:
<a class="post_a" target="_blank" href="[url=http://gameguru.box.sk/">Gameguru]http://gameguru.box.sk/">Gameguru[/url] mania</a>
Even if you later add same link with IE8 in post started with FF it'll render correctly.

Ois: The hopeless site I have to use for work, that manages internet accounts and e-mail. Will not work with it. It also fails on other new browsers. *sigh*

Aliasalpha: Its got some kind of backwards compatibility mode, have you tried that?

Did not get the time at the end of Friday, so it will wait until at least Tuesday when I'm back in the office. Reports from the head office have said "no", but this relates more to official support.
When I get the time, possibly at the term break, I'll install it and see what I can get it to do.

I'd be slightly more wary, after all, Google's revenue is advertising, and in a recession, advertising revenues tend to go way down.
Although I'll always be wary of internet acquisitions, since I remember the fallout from the dotcom bubble.
If I had any money to invest, I think I'd be looking into banking, especially since there are certain banks which governments have poured so much cash into, they can't allow them to fail. They are likely to give out good returns in 5-10 years.
Although I must mention I have very little knowledge of the stock market!
Until IE gets better than Firefox, I could care less about it....

I doubt I'll even check any other browser than firefox unless FF stops getting updated or it becomes unusable. Another browser would have to offer something much better to get a look in.

Firefox is just the right browser for me. Everything I need to see is right there unlike, for example, IE7 where I have to hunt around for the damn REFRESH button (yes I know where it is now ) and other things. The interface for IE7 is just annoying with its presentation and it looks far too bland for me. Firefox may have its share of problems (like this weird glitch it would have on my laptop where it would freeze up once I opened the download menu...) but IE7 was just bad, very bad for me. I am no developer or anything like that, but damnit I just want my different buttons to be visible by default without any mucking around on my part. IE used to be pretty decent in the olden days, now I won't touch it.

I was a confirmed IE user until IE7, my brother told me about firefox, and I haven't looked back.
Its the add-ons that do it for me, Adblock Plus is fantastic for a start.

michaelleung: Yay, to any of you IE fans. If they exist.

Is it fast enough to be worth upgrading from IE6? I know IE7 wasn't.
