Has anyone ever bought anything off of dotemu.com? It's a site I've known about for a while but never actually looked around until now. I kinda reminds me of GoG and I see that as a good thing. I've already seen a few game that Gog doesn't have that's interesting and it makes me wish GoG did have them, such as this game. (http://www.dotemu.com/en/download-game/4601/tony-tough-and-the-night-of-roasted-moths). I guess the good thing with different selection between these two is if one doesn't have something, the other might. I hope I'm not doing anything bad here or something that would bug GoG. Just showing other gamers some more games they might be interested in.
DotEmu is pretty well known here, and they publish some games on GOG even. Raptor and Gobliiins, I think Ishar too.

They're alright, if you don't mind the lack of bonus content. They have SEGA and a couple others games which GOG don't currently have and they put their games on sale a lot.
Now that Sega went and spammed the shit out of them their library is a bit of a headache to wade through.

And the stuff on their seems like left over Home of the Underdogs salvage that GOG didn't want for themselves.

They have a bigger catalogue and usually more languages than GOG. Some classics I would really love to see here have been added over at their page. They where also involved in the update of FFVII (iirc) and do a lot of porting to mobile platforms.
Haven't bought anything from them but I'm familiar with the site. This weekend they have a good sale on a bundle of various horror/adventure/action type games for $15.
On the other hand, they've lost Activision lately.
What bothers me is that they have agreement with SEGA and GOG hasn't , still. I can't see a reason for this. Everybody has MegaDrive games, except GOG.

What I dislike in DotEmu and the reason why I never bought anything there is regional pricing. Prices for EU customers are 30% higher than prices in dollars. (maybe this is why GOG doesn't have SEGA?)

This pack is awesome, though.

There are also some games, that somehow, GOG refuses to sell. The Sting! and Aliens vs. Predator classic being a basic example. WHY GOG, WHY?

Do you have any examples? I'm curious but too lazy to search through the list. I never go there

DotEmu is not only a retailer, but also a distributor. The have their own in house emulators which they ship the games with, and do a lot of porting. (gog do not really do either, as far as I understand).

In other words, DotEmu buys rights to games and ports them also, gog only do distribution rights (I think that's the right word)

They have? From what I know, DotEmu has a lot more games now than before, but quickly counting them just resulted in 270 games (vs. the 473 on GOG). In any case, apart from VTM: Bloodlines and maybe A Vampyre Story, and not counting those that are on both sites, GOG generally has the more interesting games, IMO.

But I agree that DotEmu beats GOG when it comes to languages.

DotEmu no longer sells Bloodlines, they've lost their deal with Activision for some reason.

Maybe "bigger" was the wrong word. But they have a lot of games I would really like to see here. And I'm not talking about the Sega games, but great classics that should be here.

...Traitors Gate had a sequel?! Has anyone played it? Also, does buying/downloading games from dotemu require a client?
