Anyone know where I can download this? If you have it can you host it somewhere for me, or even email it to me?

Thanks in advance.

Why I need: Terminator Salvation on PC had a bug in the retail disc release where it would not install. There was a program from the publisher to replace the disc but they are now out of business, as is the developer. I got the game off amazon for $5 on a lark and I got the broken version. There is a way to install it manually but you need the above program. I cannot find a working download of it, probably got a few viruses trying.

I would give 7 zip a try first, if you haven't already. It will unzip about anything . . . =)

That's the page I have bookmarked with the solution but their link to the file does not work.
Yeah, I just tried to download that file. It's a dialer.

Tried http://legroom.net/software/uniextract ?

Edit: I managed to download the file... somehow! I'll upload it somewhere if that link doesn't work for you.

I'll try it, thanks.

Edit: It says "file type supported but extraction failed." Wonder what that is about. If I never find the other thing I will try to figure that out.

I managed to find it and download it from the web just now. AVG has found no funny business in it and i've run the executable with sucess, but only on XP 32 bit, didn't worked on win7 64 bit. There's a .chm help file inside and everything.

Here's the download link ( i've uploaded it to media fire)

Edit: Yeah, forget media fire, apparently the recent update borked the service, all my files on media fire are throwing errors on download and half the files i try to upload are ending up god knows where because they never show up on my folder at all.

I've uploaded it to Rapid Share. You have to go the slow download way and wait the 60 seconds.

Thanks a lot, I got it. You're right, it doesn't seem to work on Windows 7 64bit either. Googling it there seems to be a common problem with it and anything after XP. Arg!

Oh well, guess I will just "pirate" the game. Thanks anyway!
I don't get it: you want to open .cab files or .msi files?

For MSI files there is LessMSI, by the way...
You should be able to open .cab files normally with the Windows Explorer... Are you trying to extract the files from the installer?

I figured as much when it complained about some .ocx dependecie or something like that in Win7 but worked without a itch in XP, so it looks like you'd need a machine with XP to get to the contents of the .hdr file.

If there are corrected versions 'floating about', seeing how you paid for your copy and everything, well...

Only if they're Microsoft cab files, there's at least two different compression formats using the same extension.

Hmm... didn't know that. Thanks. :p

Yeah, I don't like downloading whole games because of the seeding and such, but in this case I don't really have a choice. I got a version that is basically just the game unpacked manually like the instructions above, just the work done for me. Seems to work okay so far, has one crash that might have been a random thing.

Thanks for the help anyway!

Sure, no problem.

I don't like to have to resort to that kind of solution either but, like you said, sometimes there's no alternative to get a legit copy working. It sucks but not having the alternative would suck a whole lot more.
