Just downloaded Master of Orion 1 +2 to my new Mac. The installer downloaded fine, I opened it, but now all I see is the Finder application open, with the image of the Master of Orion 1 + 2 folder and an arrow pointing to Applications. Is it installed or what?

Sounds like you need to drag that folder to your applications folder.
Master of Orion is opening, but Master of Orion 2 "is damaged and needs to be moved to the trash." should I just redownload the whole installer?

Now I can't delete the original installer because "it's in use." Starting to freak out here.

You need to 'eject' the game 'drive' on your desktop by right-clicking on it and ejecting it. Then you can erase the .dmg file. And be sure to erase the Master of Orion folder from your Applications folder.

Thanks. As for Master of Orion 2 being damaged, should I just redownload the installer and try again?

Tried it, Master of Orion 2 still comes in damaged. Should I just contact support at this point?

Yeah, that would be your best bet. I just downloaded and tried it and it worked for me, so I don't know what else could be going on. =/

QFT. It's actually very simple and elegant in my humble opinion. Installing and playing games on a Mac has never been easier.

If you downloaded through the browser, try using the downloader, if through the downloader, use the browser. It is possible that you get different files, in which case I'd appreciate a shout over which one works and which one doesn't.

Finally got it to work. I set my security preferences to allow apps from anywhere and it did the trick. Thank you everyone for your suggestions.
