I'd imagine it's close to Shovel Knight sales, 1-2% of Steam sales. Though it has been surprisingly high up on the Bestsellers front page tab so perhaps it's even higher than that.

nvm
Yep. Shovel knight never reached those heights or even close to it. War of Mine was pretty high up even during the most recent sale...

If GOG is not willing to give out sales numbers, you could also get a rough estimate by looking at # of user ratings on each site. Steam currently has 2571 ratings whereas GOG has 114, which correlates to about 4% for GOG if we are only considering the two sites and not accounting for variance in buyer:rating ratio.

If we can measure it that way, then GOG sales are really low.Post edited November 29, 2014 by OmarTheSyrian

Well, from what I've read and watched this is a dev that makes good games, puts everything it has into its games and supports the DRM-free movement. So I'm very happy that This War of Mine is a hit. Go 11-bit Studios!

the.kuribo: I think it's more a matter of Steam having a near monopoly on the PC gaming digital distribution market right now, particularly when it comes to new titles. It boggles the mind sometimes that for the same price you could have a superior DRM-Free version of the same exact game yet people either don't know this or in some cases prefer having a Steam version because they are so dependent on the Steam client.
I've seen people who prefer Steam over DRM-free versions claim that they'd like to have their entire collection in 1 store. Never understood their logic though.Post edited November 29, 2014 by huN73R

I can. I have the same dilemma with GOG/Desura, for instance. For the same game, same version, same extras, DRM-free, I'll take GOG every time, even if it's more expensive. I only use Desura for stuff I can't get here.

Well, I also like to have my full collection in one easy to reference place, but third-party software/websites are far better than Steam client for game collection management: http://www.collectorz.com/game/

I am hoping that GOG Galaxy has a full game collection management interface and launching mechanism so that we can easily list, categorize, search, and filter our game collections in one place in addition to adding easy patching and fully optional community features as well.
