Are there any rpgs with the same deal as baldurs gate and infinity engine? I prefer rpgs with a party that I can lvl up. Which ones come closest to those games?

These are what I tried and liked-

Fallout tactics in real time-Awesome!
Icewind Dale 1-Really good but hard!
Baldurs GAte 1 and 2-Best!
Kivi's Underworld-somewhat challenging but has decent story!

I didn't like these games-

Driftmoon-Too childish
Warlord Battlecry 3-I wish I could say this is good but theres no story!
Depths of Peril-no story!

You know how to read and like it a lot ? try Planescape:Torment. Additionally, nobody can say this one lacks a story ;)

GoodOldJack: Driftmoon-Too childish
I tried the demo and felt much the same way. Too bad, I really wanted to like it :(

Why not try Wizardry 8 (currently on sale)? It has awesome party levelling goodness even thought the combat is a bit different to Infinity games.

I don't like turn based games. I find them too confusing and complicating. If I play a turn based game its usually with one character like Eschalon.
Well, you can always pick up Darklands. It's got a party, its real-time with pause and a sandbox (as much as a game from 1992 can have a sandbox) that will keep you entertained for many hours.

Really? It's the opposite for me. I find TBS easier to understand because you have time to think over what you are doing. But of course that allows for more stuff to be going on because you don't have to manage everything in real time. So I can see where you are coming from though.
Planescape Torment has a story and a party, but it lacks pretty much everything else. I thought I'd just throw in this warning if you don't want to get disappointed. It's the type of game you play just for the story with all the RPG mechanics just tacked on.
A nice way to experience the Infinity Engine again with a new story and custom-built maps is the Classic Adventures mod, porting some classic modules from pen & paper Dungeons & Dragons to the BG II engine.

Often mentioned alternatives are Arcanum and Temple of Elemental Evil. I haven't gotten around to playing them yet however, so I wouldn't know how they are lack, only that ToEE is rumoured to be very hard and secondly, it's buggy and needs the Circle of Eight modpack to function well.

Another game that seems to be good material but haven't played yet either, is Inquisitor.

Finally I advice some patience and wait for the Project Eternity Kickstarter project.

Anyone who can tell what Arcanum, ToEE and Inquisitor are really like is welcome to hop in.

*edit: the Classic Adventures mod I mentioned can be found at the Spellhold Studios modding site, under 'Conversion mods'

I would say try a demo of Inquisitor before buying it if possible or watch some gameplay videos. ToEE is pretty good, the combat may not be to everybody's taste, again a demo or gameplay video would be handy.
Arcanum definately, Shame you dont like TB, I would definately recomment Anachronox.
Was going to suggest Jagged Alliance 2, but then I noticed the realtime requirement...

Maybe the ALTAR UFO-games? Or Freedom Force. The second one is even here on gog.

Definitely the new UFO series, that being , [url=http://www.gog.com/game/ufo_aftershock]Aftershock amd Afterlight. I'm just like you, preferring real-time tactical combat over turn-based, and these three games offer that in spades. The first one is a bit more simplistic and focused on story, other two are more tactical - not that story in them would be somewhat terrible, just not quite as interesting.

Thank you, I nearly didn't notice this game. I just picked it up and will install later. Does it have a set story or is it more nonlinear with regards to what you can do?

Im going to give them a shot as well as Ive heard good things. And yeah, Im just better at being able to pause between combat. Maybe I just don't have the patience to control a group of 4 in tbased combat, but I still like fallout, the quest, and eschalon. Oh well.

I beat Planescape, it was good. But didn't have as much combat as the other 2 games. Still a great game though.

I'm currently playing GeneForge 1 and I think the combat, while turn based, is actually quicker and more straightforward than Infinity Engine
In the Geneforge games you are solo but you summon a party of monsters that you have complete control over (as long as you give them 2 Int or more) and they level up but only have one attack, no inventory etc so its kind of between Solo and party based

Yeah, I've heard that Darklands feels like a direct Infinity Engine pre-cursor too, haven't played it yet though...
Temple of the Elemental Evil with the Circle of Eight mod and if you don't mind its age and bugs, Gorasul The Legacy of the Dragon.

In the UFO series, can you pause or is it strictly real-time?
