Hi folks, Dave here from Screwfly. Happy to see the interest in Zafehouse.

Re customisation, you can add your own occupations, upload portraits, add locations and create your own survivors. The engine is flexible and moddable too.

With regards to difficulty, we're working on a patch right now that allows any survivors on watch duty to let you know if they see those special events coming, as well as more bonuses for preparation (traps, patrolling etc). We've also changed the way the lynch mob and super zombie 'hunt' you - I won't tell you how, but it's not as random as it might appear.

Stay tuned!

Hey there! I messaged you on Desura, but since you're here... would you be willing to activate Zafehouse on Desura for me (if I show you some kind of proof of purchase)?

Awesome game bro; totally loving it. Good thing I downloaded it before Gamersgate went down.

Pheace: I made that mistake before ^^

You *will* die a lot in this game, I love it :)
No mistake compares to that of trying to breach a police station without some serious firepower :P

Gamersgate has been screwy today.

-=SPAM counter-attack BUMP!=-
NOW the frontpage says system maintenance and will be back in 30minutes.Ugh
GamersGate seems to be online again. Too bad I only have access to my netbook at the moment and Zafehouse Diaries doesn't run on 1024x600 display or lower, so I can't try the demo. :(

Maybe I'll just buy it unseen then one of these days and hope it works fine on my desktop PC and that I'll like it, too. We'll see.

Hi Dave! Please excuse my ignorance, but by "upload portraits" do you mean upload them to a website or share them through an online connection with other players? I assume the game is not dependent on a constant online connection, is it? And I could insert my own portraits without uploading and sharing them?

I'd really like to play Zafehouse Diaries but the omission of Desura keys means I won't be getting it from Indiefort, sadly.

Poor choice of words on my part. You just add them to the game using your local copy of the game. The game then runs them through some photo filters to give them a grainy 'polaroid' look so they fit with the game's style.

Cool, thanks!

Will the Desura version get better support than the GamersGate version?

I don't know, I have several reasons for wanting a key but mostly it's because I prefer to buy games that are still being updated on Desura or Steam so I don't have to patch them myself.

So, the Lift Off Bundle ends today - any idea when exactly?

I'm still on the fence whether I should get it ... I really like the concept and originality of Zafehouse Diaries, but management and strategy games, sims, and even rogue-likes usually don't manage to hold my attention for long; I guess they're just not my type of game. So I'm torn between the perspectives of (a) trying out an original new game concept and adding it to my collection for a very low price, and (b) spending money on something I might not even be interested in playing for more than 5 minutes, when I could use the same amount to get something I'd definitely enjoy (I mean $3-4 is not much on its own, but it adds up quickly if you get into the habit of spending it on things you're only partly interested in; as for all the other games I'd get with the bundle - unfortunately I have zero interest in them).

It's too bad the Zafehouse diaries demo won't run on my netbook and I'll only have access to my desktop when the bundle is over. Sigh. :(

I also read that Zafehouse Diaries' hard difficulty could be off-putting to some, and I assume that might refer to people like me who usually don't play similar games?
It's the final day of the GamersGate's IndieFort Countdown Bundle. If anyone still have ongoing issues, please let me know so I can notify the GamersGate staff one last time about them.

I would like to thank everyone for supporting the indie developers like us involved in this bundle. With all the issues it has been less than an ideal, but even with all that, we still got a chance to reach to a much bigger audience than some of us ever had. And personally I got the chance to directly meet and talk with various people here and all the other places, including the developers and players alike, so I'm thankful for the opportunity.

I'd like to think that things will only get better from this point on and wish everyone a happy new year.

Got the bundle but because of errorGate, cant download LOL...Zafehouse seems intriguing...
What's up with the Indiefort bundle, wasn't it supposed to end yesterday? Did anyone get any of the unlocked bonus games and OSTs yet? Do you only get them when you bought all of the bundles or is something wrong with GamersGate?

(I've seen people here mention there's somethng wrong with GamersGate but I didn't quite pay attention and I thought by now all problems should be have been sorted out?)
