You can thank XNA for that it's really really easy to port it directly and not have to touch the controller section except to add keyboard commands

Well about ten or so hours removed from the time it started the price is still barely teetering below the pre-order price. Something tells me you aren't going to see a lot of preorders next time unless they lower it to $3. Despite their suggestions to the contrary the 'Really Big' only referred to the one game that everyone pretty much knew would be included. The Christmas bundle could be anything and, so far, I haven't been blown away with the games they've offered. I think they might need to rethink their strategy.

Anyone know if Runespell: Overture is worth it? It's the only thing I really want from this bundle.

I mentioned earlier in the thread that I didn't really care for it, but I imagine there are a few more people to chime in now.

I went in to the demo thinking (based on the marketing) it was going to be an RPG with some variation of poker for a battle system, but with spells and such. So when it turned out to be essentially a less complex, poker hand based Puzzle Quest it threw me off, and I didn't bother playing too much further. You basically get columns of cards and try to make poker hands out of them to damage. There's a bit of strategy (do I go for two pairs or wait for a full house?), and you have to steal opponent's cards, but it's not that complex or varied.

There's other minor complaints too (why go with plain old Solitaire graphics? That's not very fantasy, and kind of lazy...) but I'm not the best person to ask. Hopefully someone else will chime in with a less biased post.

Actually I thought the card graphics were jarring in all the gameplay videos I've seen.

I didn't really care much for it, though I only put like half a hour, if that, into it. Felt like I was just matching cards up and then hitting attack. Though spells get added in pretty quickly.

I like it. It is a bit repetitive, though, I've played five hours so far, but not more than one hour in one sitting. Once you get more runespells the battles become more diverse and variable and you can approach them with different tactics. The graphics I find really nice, the dialoges could be better. All in all, I think if this is the only game I ever play from The Really Big Bundle, it's money well spent.
