Not The Robots: Is a repeat from a very recent bundle (Flying Bundle), although I understand hardly anyone picked that bundle up (3,623 sold) and it had five regular repeats. Reportedly not a bad game. Developer is apparently so hard up for sales that he was actually celebrating the fact that someone gave enough of a shit about the game to put it up on TPB. He seems completely oblivious to what DRM-free actually means.

Arcane Worlds: Yet more Alphaware that is unlikely to ever reach completion.

Unearthed: Trail of Ibn Battuta - Episode 1: Another episodic series whose completion is questionable. Looks alright.

Bleed: Repeat from a previous Groupees bundle. Pretty decent platform shooter.

No Time to Explain: Repeat from GamersGate bundle. Interesting for the first minute or so, but not particularly great on the whole.

Bad Smell: Sounds intriguing, looks fucking awful. I guess we won't know how it is until February 17 because the game doesn't unlock until then. Edit: Never mind, the game is available for download from the IR site.

I don't even remember when Indie Royale had anything even remotely passable on the shelf.

There have been a few good bundles. The Debut bundles continue to be IR's strength, although the last couple were a bit weak. The Sigma Bundle and Alaska Bundle were decent, but most of what came after the Sigma Bundle has been crap.

And while I don't doubt that LindenLabs has had a significantly negative influence in this area, the bundle market on the whole has been on a downturn. Groupees has really gone downhill as well, turning out shit left, right and centre. Humble Bundle has allowed itself to be financially corruptible and turned itself into a glorified Steam key reseller.

The Blink Bundle was the most interesting in a while, but they shot themselves in the foot by only offering Steam keys. With a line-up that strong, they could have easily got well over 15,000 sales if only they'd included DRM-free versions.

Figuratively, indeed, but one of the games in the Community bundle 2 made it pretty literal. The horror... the horror...

Any reason for this statement? AFAIK it is very much being developed...

Quite nice re-imagining of Magic Carpet also.

If people are interested, there is a demo here - http://ranmantaru.com/games/download/AWd

Experience and a folder full of pre-release games in Desura and Steam that, years later, are still in pre-release status. I'm just checking through the folder and seeing how far they've got now.

A few particular ones of note:

Iconoclasts, which was in the 2012 June Bug Bundle. At the time in Alpha status, it seems to have been pulled from Desura and abandoned.

Splot, which was in the 2011 Humble Frozenbyte Bundle. Also seems to have effectively been abandoned.

The Dream Machine, for which Part 5 has been indefinitely delayed, and the developers of which basically abandoned Desura and left it with three parts when they got onto Steam.

Recruits, which was in the 2012 Groupees Build a Greenlight bundle and which has seen next to no development in six months.

last update on Arcane Worlds was, I think, 17 Jan, so it is not abandoned yet :)
I just had to pick this up for Unearthed: Trail of Ibn Battuta. All of the reviews slate it as a poor (very), version of Uncharted.
I do not care if this ever gets a full series, but as it is being bundled I just had to grab it to see.

I don't think Iconoclasts is abandoned... maybe slow, but not abandoned.

Really? I think the current bm11 bundle is pretty neat, especially since it did away with tiers. Retro 2 wasn't bad either, and Holiday Helpings had Driftmoon!

Apparently they pushed back the release date to 2014, so who knows we might get it yet.

I have tottally forgotten about Splot. I'm glad to hear that the game is nearing completion. Thanks for sharing the links!

That was only ever a preview... and I'm not sure I remember it ever being on Desura. I keep a very close track of my games on Desura and the Iconoclasts would be on my list if I'd ever had it on Desura.

Actually bit offended by your Groupee comments. They almost never churn out the 'named" games unlike the other bundles.
Fwiw they go the gog route and try to choose games which are in a way unique (unlike the bundle factories IG/HiB and lesser degree IR) and try to appeal to Steam AND drm free/desura crowd. Id call them the Community bundlers (yeah the fact they called some of their bundles that way says it all).

Is not abandoned. The work is slow, but is getting there. Joakim Sandberg have always said that it will be slow. He will not hurry the project. News are dripfeed every now and then.

now have a spring 2014 release date, apparently out in a couple of months.

had a massive update of the game engine yesterday, chapter 5 not out yet, but it is not abandoned.

no, it is not sold. there is a demo on Joakim Sandberg's website, but the game is not for sale. AFAIK the developer is a bit of a perfectionist and have trouble showing unfinished work.
