If it doesn't mean that the only DRM used are the Steam games, then it is, as noted, extremely misleading.

From a legal point speaking, (in europe) clauses in a conract are valid in a way as a normal customer woudl read them. The missleadingness of this statement can be hold against them. So legally and therefore "in fact" as no other fact should matter ( ;-) ), the Faq states that all non Steam games are DRM free.

But wasn't the online activation for FotW optional anyway. I have the game on Steam since march and I remember some talk about this topic back then. Some talk about bonus steam content that needed to be activated or something like this. Has anybody tried starting and playing it without activation? They could have changed it, and I'm really not sure...

I haven't tested it personally but somebody on RPS said:

"Fate of the World’s DRM is a cd-key whose use is logged on a server if you have an internet connection but plays anyway if you don’t (on steam it’s steam’s DRM)"

If that's the case then it's the same as Frozen Synapse which was advertised as DRM-free on the HIB and nobody complained.

Each license you buy is for the game to be installed on one computer at a time. If you change computer, you can install the game on your new computer. So there is no limit on how many times you can install the game, but you should use only one install at a time. Each licence you buy allows you to use one copy of the game. We can provide multi-user keys - please send an email to info@red-redemption.com to ask about bulk orders.

No internet connection is ever required, but if one is available the key is registered so that we know it has been used.

I guess I'm the only person who bought it mainly for scoregasm. I'm a sucker for those type of games ( I don;t know if it's any good but it looks appealing to me).

There is one side effect of all these bundles.

I bought Fate of the World not too long ago, and now I feel really stupid for doing it given that I could have gotten it and three other games for 75% off.

These bundles encourage people to hold off on indie titles on the off chance they'll appear in a bundle. Instead of one game for 5/10/15 dollars you get four of them for three.

wow going into this purchase I had no idea what Fate of the World is, but now that I've installed it definitely seems interesting

I had a basic idea of what the game was, but I never realised it could be so interesting. I'm not doing so well with it, but I'm definitely enjoying the game, haha.

Some time ago I wanted to buy the Fate of the World, but not bought. Then came the triple edition and wanted to buy but now is as gift: P

Frozen Synapse was really pushing it. 100% DRM-free single player, completely DRM'd multiplayer. Multiplayer is supposed to be the big draw for the game but you can use it only under specific controlled circumstances, which rules out most cases where I'd actually want to play it. That's the reason why I didn't it on its own, but it wasn't as big of an issue in a PWYW (with SpaceChem included).
