Bought the HumbleBundle 4, and looked long and hard at this bundle.
Is Blackwell Trilogy worth it? (for someone who isnt really into adventure games, except monkey island series and some of the other old lucasarts adventures).
The Oil Blue sounds interesting. But what i actually like is the bonus 8-Bit chiptune album.Had a look at the authors site - not bad, however its $3USD for either flac or mp320 (and other formats), and seems u only pay to download in one format only. Wondering whether to buy the album alone, or buy the bundle for just Blackwell Trilogy and get album bonus if i pay above $11USD (right now).

I loved the Blackwell trilogy and basically only bought it for that. Basically do get if you're into mysterious stories. The games themselves are more like storytelling device with a few pretty easy puzzles thrown in, and I really enjoyed them - don't expect it to be too long thou since every game has about 4 hours gameplay time and all three make a one continuous storyline

Anonymous dropped a bomb like 2 seconds ago and brought the price down to $2.99.

What? That game is pure QTE with the player like a monkey in a test cage pressing the buttons that flash and switching to panes that whistle (the monkey is smarter because it works for a reward). The level ups are also funny because they increase your workload, by giving you more and more mechanical masters to obey.

Oil Blue rewards you with more work. That's it. All the machines are unlocked in the first hour of playing and then you grind for unlocking concept art - one wouldn't tell that art from the in-game one because the player hasn't got any time to study the background pictures. You don't plan, don't scheme, don't really think. Repairs and operation are pure QTE or guesswork.

EDIT: I don't normally link to stuff I wrote cause it seems egocentric/spammy/self promoting but.... I wrote a big, through roundup of all the games, and it might be help you decide if Blackwell/Oil Blue are worth the extra $8 on top of the album.

Thanks a lot! Also I just double checked because I thought it was also available in FLAC, and it actually is for me at least. I think it was added a day or so after the original album download was.

I like HIB because the games are good and they're all DRM-free.
Indie Royale offers neither so thanks but no thanks.

Got around to playing through 2 of the 3 games in the Blackwell Bundle. I've enjoyed them so far. The only major issue I have is that the voice acting is a bit iffy (especially in the first of the series), but it's tolerable and I got used to it not too far in. I liked the music in the second game of the series, Blackwell Unbound, and preferred the voice acting there, too. Preordered the bundle especially for the Blackwell games, and I'm not disappointed.
