i know ^^ ; about the difference between what the webpage states what the key you get (Desura / Steam) and the icon on the video / description = it's quite different. None have a Desura icon ....

i though my previous post was clear enough ^^

For those who are interested, when I bought my bundle Sengoku was available as a download, not just Steam only.

EDIT: Just double-checked, Sengoku is available for download.

Yeah, March of the Eagles is the only Steam only game as far as I know. A lot of the publicity material for the bundle says all the games are on Desura though. I wrote to them about it and they said it is on Desura which... isn't true.

In the reply they said "the game is available via Desura" which... isn't really true considering you have to actually download and play the game through Steam. The game is on the Desura database and can be bought through Desura, but given that all you get is a Steam key and a shortcut to Steam it's a bit disingenuous to say the game is available in the bundle "via Desura" (which implies that you can actually get the content from Desura).

Now we can all realise our dreams of clicking on the game in Desura, which will then launch Steam which will launch the game.
Heh, if someone sells Desura keys for this through some other client we might get the record for the most chained clients launching a game.

EDIT: For clarity!

Only March of the Eagles has "requires Steam"' on Desura , others one not.

Anyway March of the Eagles is only steam in the bundle.

yeah i hate third party client , that's my red line...

In other news, not only is the current Humble Weekly Steam only, but one of the games has extra DRM on top of Steam! It's crazy how far they've strayed...
If anyone does not want there sengoku steam key, I could give it a nice home. Thanks.

Isn't that happening already, or did I misunderstand? You buy a key for the bundle from Indie Royale, the bundle gives you a key for Desura, Desura gives you a key for Steam? XD

Does it work like that? Because if it doesn't and you only get a Steam key from IR, it's even more disingenous of them to claim all games are on Desura. And if it does, you should be able to get two Steam keys from the bundle, one from IR, one from Desura? Or will the Desura key give you exactly the same Steam key that's generated on your IR page?

Just curious, because it's an interestingly absurd topic. Fortunately, TotalBiscuit and youtube convinced me that the games in the bundle are not for me anyway. ;)

Well what I was suggesting was that another client based service sell Desura keys so we can get 3 clients chained for the hell of it.

But anyway, to answer your more serious questions: You can only get one Steam key but there are two ways of getting it. The obvious one is to register the key on the bundle page, the less obvious one is to attempt to play the game through Desura. It'll give you the key in a little popup along with the option to start Steam. Once you tell it that you've registered the key, then the Desura entry just functions as a Steam shortcut.

If there were two separate keys, it would somehow be slightly less disingenuous... saying the game is available both on Desura and on Steam implies two ways to get the game. If there were two Steam keys it would at least mean that yes there are two ways, they're just the same.
I don't know if some of these games will be made available separately at any point, but when I tried clicking "Direct Download" for "March of the Eagles", which was labelled as Steam-only, it said that the game would be available for direct download "soon".

I've got no idea if that's just standard text for Desura, since I don't really use it, or whether it really will be available for direct download.
