Space lobotomy!

Ring Runner: Flight of the Sages, a one-of-a-kind space shooter/RPG mash-up, oozing with creativity and humor, is available 66% off on GOG.com. That's only $4.99 for the next 24 hours!

Ever heard the "brain is a universe of its own" metaphor? Well, you are in deep space and your brain has just been lobotomized, with some of the more useful bits replaced by Nero, a buggy neuro-hub, guiding you through the vast expanses of cosmos. As you travel through the Rings, the superhighways connecting distant corners of the universe, you begin to understand the intricate capabilities of your brain. You are a Sage, and this your story.

Ring Runner: Flight of the Sages is an inventive Sci-Fi shooter/RPG, with procedurally generated backgrounds, level layouts, and AI enemies, taking replayability value to a whole new level. Combining many different gameplay modes, mechanics, and set-ups it's giving the player a space opera-type adventure with an offbeat twist. With a vast number of ships acting as unique templates for countless skills Ring Runner: Flight of the Sages is a treat for space-shooter fans and all others in the mood for some fast-paced action.

Get Ring Runner: Flight of the Sages for only $4.99 on GOG.com and embark on a hilarious journey across universe in this exhilarating space opera. This promo lasts until Thursday, September 12, at 9:59AM GMT.

Glitch? What glitch? O_o
This game is an indy!? The screen shots look like something out of Epcot Center.
Time to grab it.
Grabbed it. Wasn't on my wish list (which is thankfully small these days), but looked interesting.
This game was in the Be Mine 9 bundle, just a heads up so people don't buy this twice if they don't care for the GOG version.
So?
I'm still confused, is it strategy, shooter, sim?

So does it simulate a strategy shooter?

Or does it simulate a shooter strategy with RPG elements?

or does it shoot an RPG with strategy elements?

Or does it RPG a strategy with shooter simulation?

Or does it shoot a simulation with RPG strategy?

not a glitch gate caliber of glitch.

'glitches of the pick 5 promo code spliting' =
picking 5 while owning any of them would use the entire gift code (ie un-giftable), it has already been resolved.

i greatly like the system where if you own a copy you can give it away / trade it / etc.

resolution confirmed
Enjoyable game, real time space shooter that does have RPG elements and lets you pick the skills/abilities/weapons you wish to use for your choice of ship. Story is interesting too with a very dry sense of humor. Bought it myself some time ago otherwise I'd be happy to pick it up at this price!

My closest comparison with other games on GOG.com would be Star Control, or on other venues Space Pirates and Zombies as a more recent game. Much more customization and ship choices than the original star control and not quite as much rpg-ness as the second star control, but similar in how the combat plays out, though it does have more varied environments than star control.
