Survival of the sweetest.

Long Live the Queen, a complex political thriller full of violence, hate, and tough choices, masked by deceptively cute visuals, is available 60% off on GOG.com. That's only $3.99 for the next 24 hours!

Long Live the Queen is a brutal game. Your heroine will try to escape the many dangers awaiting a young heiress to the throne, and will often fail, ending up dead, leaving the kingdom at mercy of it's many enemies. Luckily, you'll be able to back up on your mistakes, probably just to witness another death of the princess. When you're but a child, suddenly burdened by the crushing weight of responsibility, every little decision you make might prove to be your last. This complex and challenging royalty sim will crush your hopes many times, before you manage to protect the princess until the day of her coronation. There are secret plots at play, invaders at the gates, dark magical forces hiding in plain sight, assassins lurking in the shadows, and way too many suitors trying to get their hands on the young heiress' heritage. With non-linear gameplay, and great depth this cute-looking title will take even the most experienced gamer by surprise!

If you thought that the life of a princess is full of bliss, ballroom dancing, cotton candy, and ponies, it's about time you faced the terrifying truth in Long Live the Queen, for only $3.99 on GOG.com. The 60% off Gem Promo offer lasts until Thursday, March 13, at 10:59AM GMT.

oh come on :) admit it was a bit funny :o)
This is a great little game, but extremely frustrating until you learn some basics in the beginning .
Let's give it a try...

deonast: This game is harmless, but I bet you'd never see hardcore Hentai on gog. Amusing the postings when this game first came out how many people were clueless thinking this was Hentai (animated porn game).
As I recall people were accusing it of being paedo-bait, owing to the young girl in the not-quite-upskirt pose and the screenshot about having an affair. Where have the accusers gone, anyway? This thread is letting me down on the perverse amusement front.

I guess there is always something else to complain about, they have probably moved onto the next controversy.
Nice, time to die extensively, still have not been able where to go since Dragonfall.

timppu: Anyone else getting

"Your payment's status could not be verified due to temporary technical issues."

Argh, now I need to check whether GOG has again charged my credit card, without giving me a game. Has happened before.

EDIT: No worry, the game appeared on my shelf anyway, despite the error.
This happens to me every damn time I buy something from PSN - it's damn annoying but what can you do, right?
Personally this game is fun.

Don´t expect a masterpiece, it´s just a game with a set tree of decissions over a course of 40 turns (days). The core events usually happen every time, although some of them can be avoided on some of the paths. The minor events can happen or not depending or certain conditions. You just keep making choices trying to reach a certain path (sometimes you want to live, sometimes you want a different ending, sometimes you want a death for achievement completion...).

If you just approach the game trying to finish it once, it will be a short experience. The fun is on trying to reach many possible different paths. There are many interesting ones, and it´s fun to find a different way of doing things with hilarious or devastating consequences. Don´t expect a long game which is too complex. There are many many paths to take (I can say I´ve played through the game more than 20 times, and I haven´t earned every path yet), and the fun is exploring them. Yeah, it may starts being boring on the first days, when there are not so many choices like in the final ones, but once you start knowing what happens each day, you can just skip those scenes.

I personally recommend it, although it may not be for every gamer out there.

Well, it's not like people are left wanting in the JRPG field when it comes to jailbait girls in skimpy clothing. Disgaea, the Tales series, Neptunia Hyperdimension, Chantelise, the Atelier series, the list goes on...
The price is hot---and the game has been wishlisted for a long time---so I´ve now got that one ;)
Thanks for this awesome Gem Promo!
