JudasIscariot: No, it's about as far away from being a tower defense game as you can possibly get. It's more like a horror adventure game that kind of reminds some of us of the old Home Alone game where you have a 2D perspective and you move from room to room trying to avoid the bad guys :)
Hm, I suppose it's not comparable to Lone Survivor then either? I haven't played Home Alone, but I recall moving from room to room trying to avoid the bad guys in Sierra and Infocom adventures, and then some really old C64 games that I don't remember the details of. ;) Not sure if I'd find that fun, I generally don't like games where you have to "last" a given time, trying to avoid losing instead of trying to win. I already have mixed feelings about tower defense. But maybe I'll give it a try just because I like the art style.

I'm finding the underlying story very interesting, almost enough to believe that someone actually lived like this at some point in time. It's a good one anyways and my daughter keeps harassing me to play it while she watches haha!

Well, in Lone Survivor you can injure some of the lesser zombie things, whatever they were. Here, you are dealing with what appear to be the manifestations of a sleep deprived mind. Are they real or are they imaginary, that's up to you to decide :) In short, you don't fight anything like in Lone Survivor.

In case you didn't notice, I am having a difficult time trying to explain this game without spoiling for anyone as I have finished it myself and I would not want to deprive anyone of it discovering it for themselves :D

If it's possible to finish it, I assume it's divided in several levels (nights?). How long do you think does it take to play through it on average?
The game is being deliberately vague. You know virtually nothing about your objectives, except that making it until the break of dawn moves you one step towards the endgame. But is it enough to just survive, or are there other objectives to accomplish? If so, what are they? It's also very easy to paint yourself into a corner and end up in an unwinnable situation if you let your sanity drop too much.

Yes, it's mostly divided into nights although there are some interlude levels that don't quite fit the night part :) Let's just say they are like an intermission of sorts :)

If you barrel through the game like I did, it should take abouuuut 6-8 hours to finish? I don't really know as I didn't measure the time played. Keep in mind that there are some sort of secrets involving visions that you receive if you find the girl in the forest enough times during the outside levels where you go outside for a bit. No, I don't quite know why you look for a girl in a creepy as all hell forest but there you go :)
The gem shouldn't miss with this promo.
I was thinking about picking up the next indie gem promo game, but then it turns out to be this. Sorry GOG, but I don't do horror. A cat on the freeway has steadier nerves than I do. Maybe next time.
