Tasty colors! Melodic shapes! Rainbow music!

Dyad, a psychedelic arcade abstract shooter that aims to mesmerize the player, and possibly even induce altered states of consciousness, with its rhythmic pulse and vibrant colors, is available whole 75% off today, on GOG.com. That's only $3.74 for the next 24 hours!

It's quite difficult to explain Dyad to someone who never played it. No, seriously! You could talk about it for over 6 minutes on video, and still leave the viewer confused as to what the game is about. It's probably easier to explain what the game feels like, especially if you reach deep into the vocabulary of the groovy '60s. It would still be pointless, though, as there are some things that make sense only when you experience them, not talk about them. This game, most certainly, is one of those things.

Dyad, an abstract tunnel shooter game with eye-candy graphics and intriguing interactive music, is a game unlike the most. It sort of just flows, allowing you to experience its hypnotic beauty and immerse yourself in a peculiar state of relaxed alertness. Its 27 different levels, three game-modes, and collectible trophies provide you with many additional challenges, but mostly, this is a perfect game to take the edge off after a long day. Also, it's really groovy, and you just need to check it out, dude!

If you're up for a transcendental voyage filled with amazing colors and sounds, Dyad is the legal way to go, and the limitless trip wil cost you only $3.74 on GOG.com. The offer lasts until Thursday, August 1, at 9:59AM GMT.
I can taste the music. Why...why does it taste like garlic? =/

Italian cuisine! Works for me :-)
LSD meets game.
I feel sorry for the game.
The game never had a chance.
The game was a lie.
It's just nuts.

I think I like it.

So if you drop acid and play Dyad, does it just become Tyrian 2000?

I used to play Tyrian drunk; one of reasons I don't drink anymore. As for any further LSD jokes I've never actually done acid before so I guess I'd better refrain for fear that I'd be talking out of my ass.

Pass. Maybe I haven't given it enough of a chance yet, but the fiddly controls and predictable challenges detract from the supposedly trippy mindflight of the game. It never seems to relax enough for me to immerse in it, unlike games such as Rez and Child Of Eden. I found GOG's own Symphony a better experience.
I have done a fair bit of a acid in my time and really it seems that when you're tripping the most fascinating and cool things that you want to spend your time with are things that are boring when you're not tripping. Anything deliberately trippy like this game is usually passed over for other things.

It's like- yeah the game is trippy, but when you're on acid, everything is trippy.

More on topic: This seems like a large reduction soon to release. Should I take that as a warning sign?

It seems highly rated. I think there's just a certain kind of person who enjoys it. But that's probably not a very big group?

IDK. On the one hand, I'd like to get it just to see, and this is pretty cheap. On the other, I'm not a big fan of visual overload.
I'll pass on this also. The screens are just too busy for me, and from past experience, I know I won't play it much.
This is a great Tempest clone. It really highlights the generational shift between then and now,
