for Indie Gala happy hour does pre-buying at the BTA (beat the average) put you into the happy hour bonuses or does one have to buy with a BTA during the happy hour?
ie:
can i just bta now and be qualified as an 'early buyer' for the Happy Hour?

(the info box makes it seem ambiguous otherwise id have assumed it must be during the happy hour time frame)

quote from the info box im talking about:
"3) Only BTA people will be qualified 'early buyer' for the Happy Hour ( if an HappyHour will be ). In a few words: Happy Hour is only for BTA people."

what were some of the prior happy hour benefits to gauge if it worth waiting for it if it has to be bought in the 'hour window' time frame.

This question / problem has been solved by Stoonerimage
the last indie gala happy hour was if you bought a bundle and selected "gift" option you got 2 bundles instead of just 1 (and at the price of just 1).
It's also hard for me to understand their Happy Hours.... ;p

Stooner: It's also hard for me to understand their Happy Hours.... ;p
i know it should be self explanatory :p
but that oddly placed 'info' box:

"3) Only BTA people will be qualified 'early buyer' for the Happy Hour ( if an HappyHour will be ). In a few words: Happy Hour is only for BTA people."

------
ie:
can i just bta now and be qualified as an 'early buyer' for the Happy Hour

and do they just lump all their steam codes in a single code? ^_^
never used gala before

The IndieGala page is a big mess on my browser...
And the Steam keys are separated...

Edit:I can't even see that "oddly placed 'info' box"!.. :P
But if I remember right, early buyers receive 4 bundles instead of 2 on happy hours. But I can be horribly wrong....

thanks for the separated keys info Stooner!

their beta chat room is full of people asking for them to start the happy hour (days worth of posts in similar fashion)

perhaps that beta chat link is corrupting your browsing experience and causing the big mess.

no problem, sorry not being able to help more...
I hope you get your answers! ;p
I'm afraid the people of indiegala have a misconception about the term "happy hour"

I *think* happy hour refers to the ability to spend Gala Points on their Steam Store offers to pay less for them.

Anyway, they are Italians and probably have some EFL-related problems explaining things.
I'm going to try to send them a nice little email asking them what they are talking about (in Italian language to avoid misinterpretation) and will report back if their answers make any sense.

I would be happy if some other Italian native speaker wants to do that too. I would appreciate it as we could use additional information to verify the validity.

Thus far I have bought the recent Bundle. Got a lot of points for paying early and over 10$ and all the secret games have been successfully unlocked.
I now have Steam Codes for Fantasy Wars and Kings Bounty which I don't need as I own these already on GOG.

oh, I found it! haha.... :P

They changed the rules...

edit: Maybe is that: IF you go BTA before the unlocks you'll receive more bundles if you buy again as gift (4 as I said) on happy hours, if not , only 2...
Anyway, you have to buy BTA...
Again, I can be horribly wrong.... :P

thanks for the effort and the insight!
hadnt thought about the 'early buyer' benefit as being coupons on more of their wares. (easily a likely scenario).

i sent them an english email with chunks of the original post, but if they google translate it im sure itll be gobbledy gook. hopefully they have some multilingual team member opening my email.

how long has this promo been live?
i remember checking it out when the 2 bonus BTA games were blanks.

You're welcome.
Even if their English is twice as good as their homepage design they will have difficulties. :-D

But they are doing a remarkably great job considering that English is a horrible language to learn for Italians.

Anyway, to answer your question here is list of the Indie Galas:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indie_Gala

They probably have it for 2 or 3 weeks, considering the three unlocked games.
One shown after each week, probably.

i got a response back from my email query:

me - for Indie Gala happy hour does pre-buying at the BTA (beat the average) put you into the happy hour bonuses or does one have to buy with a BTA during the happy hour?

indiegala - "Both. "

me - ie: can i just bta now and be qualified as an 'early buyer' for the Happy Hour and get the bonus?

indiegala - " No. You have to BTA now AND when ( and if ) an HappyHour arrives, you have to BTA again to get extra gifts."

thanks to everyone for their input, effort, and answers to the many questions!

so whats the point of the early buyer thing then?

pseudonarne: so whats the point of the early buyer thing then?
based on IG email response it seems being an early buyer with BTA before happy hour is a prerequisite to getting happy hour bonuses (and having to buy again during happy hour).

edit:
seems a lot of extra work to do, camping waiting for happy hour, especially if one has already BTA.
i think the only way id notice a IG happy hour is if a bunch of GOGers posted some threads about it, and i noticed fast enough.

ah, now i get it. didn't read it that way the first time for some reason, even though now looking again after you explained it that seems like the only way
