The IndieGala thread on Neogaf has some similar support reactions. They've been advising to set the amount that goes to IndieGala to 0, at least since yesterday.

SirPrimalform: For a similar situation with a completely different outcome, when the first IndieRoyale launched they forgot to mention Sanctum being Steam only. I emailed (feigning ignorance as I often do,) asking how to download the standalone version of Sanctum.

They explained it was Steam only, apologised because they'd forgotten to mention it and actually offered me a refund without me even asking, despite the fact I'd already downloaded the DRM-free games (something they may well have known). Naturally I declined their offer because it was only one game out of four and it was an honest mistake that they'd apologised for.
That's almost uncanny. Here's my email to and subsequent reply from Indie Royale, regarding that very same issue:

Hi there,

On the front page, you indicate that all four games are available as separate Windows installers, as well as as Steam and/or Desura keys. However, now that I've bought the bundle, the download link for the Sanctum installer appears to be missing. When are you going to put that up?
And the reply:

Hey there,

we're aware of this issue, and apologize a thousand times for it. There is actually no separate build for Sanctum, only the Steam code. We're looking to get it resolved asap. If you'd like a refund, please let us know and we will of course provide.

Cheers
Like you, I didn't take the refund, as I mainly bought the bundle for Gemini Rue anyway, but I was impressed with their customer service. Compared to that, IndieGala isn't really worth doing business with.
I was expecting more from this bundle...

anyways, they talk about galapoints so a 3rd bundle is coming.

That's a good idea actually... I wish there was a way to retroactively do that.
I know they mean well as all the other bundles suppliers do but seriously they do 'feel' like a 2 bit operation that hasn't been planned too well from the start.
Thats so childish and unnecessary. You hate Steam? Fine, dont buy their bundle. But you dont have be an ass setting the amount to indiegala to 0 or bitch about it on the custommer support. I mean, cmon, theyre doing a good job getting some indie bundles very cheap in the form of donation, we should support their work, not be a total jerk about it.

Yep, they should have advertised ir more clearly, but people who buy games often are very aware of the risks of buying something with DRM not explicitly mentioned.

This isn't about disliking Steam (or rather it is indirectly), this is about them not disclosing the fact the games were Steam only and then being dicks about a problem that's their fault.

They did, each games page say that its a Steam code only. It should have been more explicit, yeah i agree, but theres no reason to be so crazy because of it. It isnt like theyre ripping you off. No one is forced to give you DRM free games just because you want it. Deal with it. Most games in store dont even mention which DRM is included, and you have to search for such information yourself.

In my experience lot of places do mention it, particularly when it's Steam. Sometimes under the guise of "3rd party client required".

The fact that they're marketing a three-tiered bundle doesn't help matters at all. It just needlessly complicates things and generates confusion. How much are you actually paying if you only want the basic tier of the bundle? What exactly are you getting if you decide to pay a given amount? And then on top of that they have a set "limited total" of bundles, who on earth thought that that would be a good idea?
I vaguely remember someone mentioning this bundle was only going to be up for a few days?.Cant remember who said it...

Incredible. You spent as little time reading what I wrote as IndieGala did. I did NOT demand DRM free games. What I said was that when I buy a DD game, I expect to get an installer for it, unless it's very clearly said that this is not the case. DRM has nothing to do with it.
First bundle I have zero interest in.

Thought that it was more to do with the fact that they have limited (50k) licenses available.
I am more interested in the music albums than the games. But I got a bad experience with the first bundle, so I pass.

You really just bought the bundle without ever looking at the game descriptions? =/ Indiegala's site says it pretty clearly that the games require Steam, at least compared to other sites that offer direct download who simply have "3rd party program required" hidden in small print.

I'm sorry that you didn't get a refund, though. I can't imagine it'd be terribly difficult for indiegala to do that.
